I got an email today thanking me for coverage․py and for fixing one issue in particular. They wanted to send me a hand-written note to my business address. I told them they didn't need to, but I really appreciated it. (I checked, it was not a scam..)

If you want to give back to open source, but can't make commits or give money, send a nice note. It has a bigger impact than you might think.

Oh, finally! I was getting genuinely worried this week: up until now, no one had told me yet that 'we need moooar powaaaar'.
Obviously, it wasn't needed: if you keep spawning threads without checking if the previous ones have finished, generating a deadlock (even at zero load) but locking up the application, 'moooar powaaaar' won't solve anything

what is the chance? or what is going on here? or is there something happening right now? – just as i finish watching Veritasium's breakdown of voting systems and nudge towards the rated voting used in the UN for their general secretary voting – ranked choice method of voting is proven contradictory youtu.be/qf7ws2DF-zk?si=K060X3

:blobcatgooglydrool:

Hey all, this @ThePSFPython Software Foundation blog post is special, it connects the dots, on where the PSF is financially, and how we’ll sustain it to serve its mission in the future. This transparency is key and an invitation to build together.

You all know that Python became the connective tissue of modern computing because of everyone (maintainers, educators, library/tools authors, companies, user groups and conferences, you!) invested time into the Python community.

Blogged: Easier reflection with [UnsafeAccessorType] in .NET 10 - exploring the .NET 10 preview, part 9

andrewlock.net/exploring-dotne

In this post I show how to work with [UnsafeAccessor] to do 'easier' reflection and how to use .NET 10's [UnsafeAccessorType] with types you can't reference at compile time
