@GrapheneOS is being threatened by French authorities for refusing to add backdoors and they're dealing with coordinated attacks in French media right now. They're pulling out of France entirely, moving all their servers, and fighting off a wave of bullshit one-sided reporting that makes them look like they're helping criminals.

They need us to fight back. Support them however you can, whether that's a dollar, sharing their story, pushing back on the garbage news coverage when you see it, or just telling someone you know about what's happening. All of it matters because they're drowning in attacks from governments and media and bad actors who want them gone.

This is the only Android OS that actually makes me feel like privacy isn't just marketing. They fight for us now they need us to fight for them.

The EU is pushing Chat Control and creating an environment where governments feel empowered to threaten developers into compliance, and if we stay quiet we're letting it happen. Show up for them in whatever way you're able to.

Type theory and category theory are the product of highly refined abstractions. Since every level of abstraction strips a layer of intuition, the final product is sometimes called abstract nonsense. The only way to navigate such vast halls of abstraction is to keep in mind where those abstractions come from, or how they can be modeled in more familiar surroundings, be it computer programs, logic, or set theory. When studying an elephant, it makes sense to occasionally focus on its trunk, legs, or ears,

Learning category theory is a little like reading a novel that has many hidden layers of meaning.

11월 나온 모델만 가지고 regression 때리면 내년 1월 중순에 SWE-Bench 가 saturate되네요. 굉장히 optimistic 한 전망이지만 반대로 갑자기 exponential grokking이 발생할수도 있으니 무섭네요

Scatter plot showing four AI models' SWE-Bench Verified scores (76.2-80.9%) from Nov 12-24, 2025, with linear regression line projecting 100% achievement by January 15, 2026 at current 11.41%/month improvement rate.

What I'm listening to today: "Cosmic Radiation", Hobboth Music

Does "20 minutes of distant howling noises" sound like something you want to listen to? Because "20 minutes of distant howling noises" is basically my favorite genre of music. The first two minutes of this are dominated by a siren sound I find by itself kinda obnoxious but then the wet/dry reaches its intended level and it's off to distant howling city

What I'm listening to today: "If You Want Some", Delinquent Habits

This is the best track on Delinquent Habits' self-titled/debut album, still my favorite hip hop album of all time, an album featuring openly political gangsta rap in an era when that was starting to be less common, incredibly heavy beats, a certain amount of rapping in Spanish, and three tracks that memorably sample mariachi music.

I recommend listening to this on something with good bass.

I spent a lot of time looking through Traveler's Journals and assorted accoutrements yesterday, which included a lot of brass - brass pens, brass clips, brass rulers, etc.

There was so much talk of "it will take on a nice patina" - everyone loves a good patina.

Hey did we ever consider that AGING also gives us, humans, a nice patina? My little brass fountain pen is more beautiful for its age. It also smells a little weirder. But that's aging too. Let's just embrace the whole thing.

lol what.

Something(?) triggered my 25G/100G switch to load AppArmor profiles for 1Password, Brave, and Discord???

weird and wild, sure I guess, why not, just in case I ever launch discord on this thing.

I guess they can then slup up extra metadata from the switch too
