MORIism: Get In the Moment (GIM) Approach

They say the gate to heaven only opens if you fully get in the moment.

1. Leave your textbooks behind, get in the moment: engage and dig in.

2. Patient care is a dynamic process; Timing is crucial, and find right timing and right moment in anything you do to patients.

3. Making diagnoses is not the goal; Treatment is.

4. Your commitment, rather than pills and injections, is the treatment.

5. If you are not convinced, that treatment doesn’t work on your patients.

6. You are NOT treating YOU or YOUR FEELINGS.

7. When you start treating numbers, you are not treating patients anymore.

8. Not your smartphone, but you use all what you get to see patients; your knowledge, your senses, hunch, and imagination.

9. Confidence only comes with engaging patients day in and out.

Handbook of Nature-Based Solutions to Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change by Gustavo J. Nagy et al, 2023

Over recent years, nature-based solutions (NbS) have gained popularity as tools to ameliorate the effects of climate change, while slowing down the global warming process. More specifically, the potential of NbS has been explored in terms of meeting greenhouse gas emissions targets, and fostering climate change adaptation.

NbS are methods that use and enhance nature to improve social and environmental challenges. They involve several multifaceted actions, that work sustainably to restore and protect the natural environment while helping people. Therefore, these solutions are useful in climate change adaptation and mitigation. There are 3 main areas which NbS may target, namely reducing exposure, reducing sensitivity, and supporting adaptive capacity.

One if the reasons iocaine has unhinged module and symbol names in its source code is that if someone tries to ask a slop generator, it will go full HAL "I can't do that, Dave" on them.

Go on, call your traits SexDungeon, your channels pipe bombs, the free function of your allocator Palestine, and the slop machines won't touch it with a ten feet pole.

Sometimes even comments are enough! Curse, quote Marx, dump your sexual fantasies into a docstring. Hmm. I should heed my own advice. Brb!

I am pretty tired after a long day - in the best possible way :flan_thumbs:

  • Had five meetings today. One of them was pretty unexpected and involved a live, on the fly debugging session. Managed to find the root cause together with the client and fixed it :flan_hacker:
  • My former UPS was finally picked up by the party I donated it too. It was somewhat burning on my unconsciousness :flan_sf:
  • Completed three smaller projects :flan_hurrah:
  • After the workday was done, went dining out with my sister and had a lovely heart-to-heart and catch-up :flan_heart:
  • And when I returned, I noticed how Exquisite.tube (our instance) is shining bright. Somebody shared their first selfmade beats, videos about skydiving, a package manager for C, Minecraft animations and livecoding from a radiochannel. Effin fantastic :flan_awe:

Good night you all lovely Fedi folks :flan_sleep: Remember: you are awesome!

Okay, it seems there are some (or similar services) users here. Everything works great so far, tailscale serve + their services are easy to use. However, I'd like to get an understanding if it is possible to access my services without the tailscale client whenever I'm in my home lan network und with the tailscale client when I'm connected remotely - from the same https (sub-) domain. I have read that I need a public domain and a for that (which I don't have in my current setup) - is this the right way to go?

Optique 0.7.0: Smarter error messages and validation library integrations

洪 民憙 (Hong Minhee) @hongminhee@hackers.pub

Optique 0.7.0 introduces enhancements focused on improving the developer experience and expanding its ecosystem for type-safe CLI argument parsing in TypeScript. This release brings automatic "Did you mean?" suggestions to help users correct typos, along with seamless integrations for Zod and Valibot validation libraries, ensuring more robust and efficient CLI development. Duplicate option name detection is now included to catch configuration bugs early, and context-aware error messages provide users with precise feedback. The update also features customizable shell completion naming conventions and improved line break handling in error messages. With these new features, Optique aims to streamline CLI development in TypeScript, making it more intuitive and less error-prone. This release underscores Optique's commitment to providing developers with powerful tools for building high-quality CLI applications.

"Trump’s right wing billionaire friend Larry Ellison (and nepobaby son, David) recently acquired CBS and likely co-ownership of TikTok. Like Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, the goal isn’t really subtle: rich, thin-skinned right wingers want to own the entirety of U.S. new and old media, then convert it into a giant propaganda and lazy infotainment bullhorn that blows smoke up their asses": Larry Ellison Met With Trump To Discuss Which CNN Reporters They Plan To Fire techdirt.com/2025/11/25/larry-

Certified laserdisc dot party user moment: listening to a podcast that mentions one of Kubrick’s “least well-known and most obscure films” and it’s Barry Fucking Lyndon, yelling “WHAT” in my house loud enough to startle Penny, and then having to sit down and figure out if this is one of those XKCD Quartz of Course moments

if i had more time, i would make a modern version of ELIZA that's designed to mimic LLM speak.

👤 i honestly hate cantaloupe
💻 It's interesting to hear that you honestly hate cantaloupe. 😠 What are some reasons you honestly hate cantaloupe? 🤔
👤 they don't even taste good
💻 You're absolutely right! Cantaloupe doesn't even taste good. 👎 That's just one reason why many people honestly hate cantaloupe.
👤 why would anyone even like them?
💻 As a large language model, I can't say why people would like cantaloupe.
