For unimportant reasons, we failed to personalize the coupons in our campaigns for a few weeks, falling back to a random selection to each recipient. After we fixed the integration bug, we treated it as a natural experiment of the efficacy of our personalization ml algorithm.
It was negative. Definitively. Random selection handily outperformed all the expensive personalization.

Can't concentrate on anything because of the constant anxiety wail in my head. Took a nap. Still can't concentrate on anything but it was nice to wake up to this sleepy kid.
