I'm writing a sci-fi story and I'm trying to understand a particular part of the intersection between FTL, causality and relativity. I learned (some) astrophysics at university but I assume I'm misapplying some aspects of the fundamentals leading to me being unable to reason why my explanation is wrong, but it's always hard to find out on one's own which part I misunderstand.
