i have an extremely naive question about physics

my understanding - possibly incorrect - is that at any time, any particle *could* change to any energy state, it's just not very likely that this will happen spontaneously. but i have no frame of reference for *how* unlikely this is. so what i want to know is,

have i ever emitted a photon?
has anyone ever emitted a photon?

when will it be my turn to emit a photon?
