Tried out the new MacOS 26 native containerization stuff. TL;DR there's no 'docker compose' so it will be a dead start for many, but for my simplistic testing needs it's dead simple, quick, has easy virtual networking, and works with any OCI image. More detailed notes here:

I upgraded to MacOS 26 this week, and first thing I've wanted to try is the new native container support. I've been content with OrbStack but a lot of the time it's overkill when I just want to test something on the MacBook. Docker and Podman even more so. From
