サウジのムハンマド皇太子は自分に都合の悪いジャーナリストの殺害を指示する程度に権力を持った悪人なんだけど、そいつがゲーム好きでゲーム会社のSNKを買収してんだわ。そのSNK新作の格ゲー餓狼cotwにクリロナがプレイアブルキャラとして発表されたんだけど、なぜかってクリロナ今はサウジでプレーしてるから。そういう構図が気持ち悪いんだわ。
e-sports Wcup が去年サウジで開催されてて、今年もやるんだろうけど、それにプロゲーマーが嬉々として参加してんのも、みっともねえって思う。オメーらこんな悪人が対戦ゲーム文化の今後を担っていいのか、ケツ持ちでいいのかっていう。

実験科学でAIを使うのはその科学的妥当性を人間が丁寧にチェックしなければならないが、直感的に結果を評価できる3Dグラフィクスとか、もう、最適な運用であるな。

Formalization of Optimality Conditions for Smooth Constrained Optimization Problems

Optimality conditions are central to analysis of optimization problems, characterizing necessary criteria for local minima. Formalizing the optimality conditions within the type-theory-based proof assistant Lean4 provides a precise, robust, and reusable framework essential for rigorous verification in optimization theory. In this paper, we introduce a formalization of the first-order optimality conditions (also known as the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions) for smooth constrained optimization problems by beginning with concepts such as the Lagrangian function and constraint qualifications. The geometric optimality conditions are then formalized, offering insights into local minima through tangent cones. We also establish the critical equivalence between the tangent cone and linearized feasible directions under appropriate constraint qualifications. Building on these key elements, the formalization concludes the KKT conditions through the proof of the Farkas lemma. Additionally, this study provides a formalization of the dual problem and the weak duality property.

Formalization of Algorithms for Optimization with Block Structures

Block-structured problems are central to advances in numerical optimization and machine learning. This paper provides the formalization of convergence analysis for two pivotal algorithms in such settings: the block coordinate descent (BCD) method and the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM). Utilizing the type-theory-based proof assistant Lean4, we develop a rigorous framework to formally represent these algorithms. Essential concepts in nonsmooth and nonconvex optimization are formalized, notably subdifferentials, which extend the classical differentiability to handle nonsmooth scenarios, and the Kurdyka-Lojasiewicz (KL) property, which provides essential tools to analyze convergence in nonconvex settings. Such definitions and properties are crucial for the corresponding convergence analyses. We formalize the convergence proofs of these algorithms, demonstrating that our definitions and structures are coherent and robust. These formalizations lay a basis for analyzing the convergence of more general optimization algorithms.

Bi-intuitionistic logics through the abstract algebraic logic lens

Since the discovery of critical mistakes in Rauszer's work on bi-intuitionistic logics, solid foundations for these have progressively been rebuilt. However, the algebraic treatment of these logics has not yet been tended to. We fill this gap by algebraically analysing the bi-intuitionistic logics wBIL and sBIL. Given that these logics are only distinguished as consequence relations, and not as sets of theorems (hence the conflation in Rauszer's work), the algebraic tools we use are tailored to the treatment of such relations. We mainly inspect these logics through the lens of abstract algebraic logic, but we also provide an alternative algebraic analysis of wBIL and sBIL as logic preserving degrees of truth and truth, respectively. Our results pertaining to wBIL and sBIL are formalised in the interactive theorem prover Rocq.

If you click on a link in a Bluesky post, it is now automatically redirected via the domain go.bsky.app before it actually goes to the link in the post. There is no way to stop this or know that it is happening as the redirect only flickers on the screen for a fraction of a second.

Presumably this means Bluesky can now track all link clicking on their platform, including IP addresses, destinations etc?

Or have I misunderstood?

Bluesky is spinning it as a tool for publishers to track referrals, but going beyond the spin it seems to be giving Bluesky access to people's online activity?

I know a lot of European companies are reconsidering their software infrastructure choices these days, if that infrastructure is based in the US.

It's super weird that we've ended in this situation, but here we are.

Especially here in Denmark, where we have to internalize the fact that the very top of the political elite in the US, including the president, is actively threatening to invade part of Danish territory.

I've worked with cloud infrastructure for 10+ years at this point. As a small act of resistance, I'd like to offer free guidance to companies wishing to move their infra away from the US, and talk about non-US alternatives.
