이 세계관에 대한 콰인의 해석을 참 좋아한다 "W. V. O. 콰인은 바벨의 도서관은 유한하고, 한 권에 들어가지 않는 텍스트는 이어지는 내용이 있는 다음 권을 찾아 재조합할 수 있다는 데 주목한다. 알파벳의 개수도 책의 내용이 더 길어지더라도 모스 부호로 치환해서 줄일 수 있으며, 책의 분량 역시 내용을 여러 권으로 나누고 중복을 제거해 줄일 수 있다. 콰인은 이렇게 저술한다:
