Hackers' Pub is a place for software engineers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. It's also an ActivityPub-enabled social network, so you can follow your favorite hackers in the fediverse and get their latest posts in your feed.
I've just finished to review the next ITNotes blog post, that I'll publish tomorrow morning (if the at daemon will do its job, it'll autopublish at 07:31 tomorrow morning 🙂 )
While this is a big deal, even if the evidence were valid, being a member of an organization is not a valid reason to lock them up. You have to actually prove that he committed a crime. This is constitutional rights 101.
It's certainly not a valid reason to extract them to a death camp on foreign soil.
is it more environmentally responsible to do sudoku on the computer (power draw, the infrastructural cost of the internet) or on paper (single-use synthetic rubber used for pencil eraser, production of pencil lead, paper use)
genuinely this one is starting to wonder. (assuming that it uses a computer it already owns and thus does not cause production of computers in order to do sudoku)
@why.bsky.teamWhy i swear i'm not trolling any more than you are about rust stuff, but like, what's the easiest way to get a go toolchain going on wsl so i can try github.com/bluesky-soci... myself. should i trust ubuntu's system package or do something else
I've adjusted it, so it fits nicely, removed the elastics that came with it for holding poles and the bladder has been washed and is drying in the kitchen.
The acid test will be taking it out for a run, and seeing how it feels, with my bits in it and getting used to being a dromedary.
The bladder that I got, holds 2 litres of water, I will likely only half fill it, not that i'll need that much, but mainly to see what that is like.

(also open to hearing that you think that it's not just one thing or anything else really)
In low-key important space news, part of the Northrop Grumman (ex-Orbital ATK, ex-Morton Thiokol) facility that makes large solid rockets blew up last week. That could have significant schedule impacts to SLS and Vulcan.
that is like, i think a tough part of the problem here is that a blue check and a green lock are perceived differently by people, even if they are technically isomorphic
