So the new FediDB is quite powerful, allowing you to search specific software servers with the following optional filters:

- latest version
- open registration
- region (North America, Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, Oceania)
- mature servers (3+ years old)
- small communities (< 10k users)

Not to mention sorting by user count, status count, mau, and server age.

And you can also search by domain.

I’ll share a demo screencast shortly, I think you guys will love it 😊

```
/software/mastodon/servers?version=latest&mature=1&small=1&region=asia
```

The new FediDB API will support advanced filtering, perfect for many use cases!

This example query will return a paginated list of Mastodon servers that:

- are running the latest version
- are mature (older than 3 years)
- are small (less than 5k users)
- are in the asia region

I'm about to record a demo of the UI, stay tuned ✨

One last thing, the API is open to all 😎

Question: for web site metrics, what is a sound, open source, privacy-respecting option? goal is to be able to see which pages are hit, blog stats etc, that's all. Any views on e.g. Umami vs Matomo vs Offen (or alternatives)? 🤔

(for a hosted solution, a plan for non-profit usage would be good)

Check this out ✨

The new FediDB has been redesigned and refactored to leverage the 394 million data points we've collected and aggregated.

Imagine being able to easily find a server with open registration that is mature (3+ years old) and located in your region, with just a few clicks!

Looking forward to working with fedi devs to further improve this, and to finish open sourcing the entire platform 🚀

Magical Haskell: A friendly approach to modern functional programming, type theory, and artificial intelligence. ~ Anton Antich. books.google.com/books?id=aLBW

Magical Haskell

Discover a unique and fun approach to adopting modern typed functions programming patterns. This book uses playful metaphors and examples to help you learn Haskell through imagination, building on math without relying on imperative crutches or technical complexity. You’ll use math to build completely different Typed Functional patterns from the ground up and understand the link between building Mathematics through Types and constructing Haskell as a programming language. Intended for working with various applications, especially AI-powered apps, the book gently builds up to what are normally considered complex and difficult concepts all without needing a PhD to understand them. Illustrative explanations will guide you to tackle monads, using monad transformer stacks to structure real programs, foldable and traversable structures, as well as other Type classes. This book will also help you structure programs efficiently and apply your own abstractions to real-life problem domains. Next, you’ll explore exciting advancements in AI, including building with OpenAI APIs, creating a terminal chatbot, adding web functionality, and enhancing with retrieval-augmented generation. Finally, you’ll delve into AI multi-agents and future directions using Arrows abstraction, reinforcing Haskell’s design. Magical Haskell is a solution for programmers who feel limited by imperative programming languages but are also put off by excessively mathematical approaches. What You Will Learn Grasp a solid math foundation without complex technicalities for Types and Typeclasses. Solve problems via a typed functional approach and understand why it’s superior to what’s available in the imperative language world (“if it compiles, it runs”). Build your own abstractions to efficiently resolve problems in any given domain. Develop AI frameworks in Haskell, including chatbots, web functionality, and retrieval-augmented generation. Who This Book Is For Haskell programmers of all levels and those interested in Type Theory.

Happy friends!

Today, I'm enjoying a blueberry jam, vanilla creme, hot dog looking donut (in Finnish we call all of these "munkki" regardless of size and shape).

I invite you to join me and share one win or happy moment from the week in replies. I want to hear your highlights!

Mine was our wonderful collab meetup with @turkufrontendTurku ❤️ Frontend and Aurajoki Overflow from Wednesday. A full house of new and old friends and good discussions.

A long and narrow pastry with powdered sugar and stripes of chocolate on top and vanilla creme bursting from a slit in the middle. It looks very delicious.
