Nobody likes to pay taxes, especially the rich. But without taxes there would be no lucrative government contracts and subsidies. So how can we shift the tax burden? We have more than 70 million tax dodgers in the US--households that pay zero federal tax. The question is, how can we tax the poor without causing a major upset? We tell them that they are poor because they are taken advantage of by other nations. So we impose across the board tariffs on those villains. The prices of basic goods go up, but that's not tax, is it? The government gets the money from the tariffs so it can cut the taxes for the rich. The rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer and yet nobody complains. In fact they will attack you if you try to explain it to them. "Owning the libs" is a reward in itself.
I'm working on setting up a #NonProfit for #BTFree , which is a #digital #privacy, #advocacy and #consulting #platform, aka running #social #web platforms such as #Peertube or to help folks set up their own.
So I'm going to need to take #donations . Looking at 
@Liberapay , but they still need a #payment #processor like #Paypal.

@stianlagstad yes I think so but it's a bit of a fiddle - easiest way is probably to run Ollama (which provides an OpenAI-compatible localhost API) and then figure out how to point Cursor at a different backend URL
I was thinking of getting a streaming device since fuck my 'smart' tv and its bullshit. But I'm not seeing any great alternatives. the Nvidia shield is getting long in the tooth and still costs $200, the open source options don't look great, so I dunno.

Cpu usage during video playback like youtube is quite reasonable, but from time to time the whole X11 is slow to death.
