What is Hackers' Pub?

Hackers' Pub is a place for software engineers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. It's also an ActivityPub-enabled social network, so you can follow your favorite hackers in the fediverse and get their latest posts in your feed.

#Bandwagon is really starting to add polish. I think the inbox / timeline still needs some design love, but I’m really impressed at how well the music and discovery side of the app is working.

I feel like this is a really solid starting point for the FediMusic community, but I would love to see federation working with other efforts like Mirlo.space and Funkwhale in the near future.

Kurva jó móka a ChatGPT-vel együtt programozni.

"Perfect — now we’re getting somewhere musically fun! 🎶" :) Amúgy MIDI szekvenszert kódolunk épp.

I've started using domains like fasterthanli.me.snug.blog which I control and resolve to 127.0.0.1 when developing my site but... of course that's an insecure origin, so the clipboard doesn't work.

believe it or not the path of least resistance was serving (self-signed) TLS 🙃

This year @btconfbeyond tellerrand got me thinking about the things I touch every day, about my own curiosity, remembered AI is both greedy and extremely useful, saw mad things can be done without AI, that I should just get on and make stuff, saw the web as an art medium, and the artistry in lettering, saw creativity in development, and inclusiveness, and calm, and empathy.

I loved it all - never change, .

One of the things I touch daily is my phone, but it is also a great life and curiosity enabler 😊

A pencil drawing of a cartoony phone, with the words "what do I do on my phone?"

Around it are examples of the many things I do on my phone:

I talk to my friends.
Sometimes, I even make new friends.
I check weather.
I set alarms to stop forgetting.
I add people to my CSS webring.
I read books!
I track my health.
I listen to music.
I do my banking.
I identify stars or planets.
I watch videos.
I time my watch.
I learn new things.
I doomscroll.
I push quick fixes to my websites.
I book taxis.
I post photos for family.
I plan journeys.
I read the news.
I navigate.
I play games.
I calculate.
I do the food shop.
I contact medical practices.
I take photos.
Sometimes, I make calls!!!
I read/write emails.
I write lists:
- packing
- to do's
- shopping
I note ideas.
I (have to) use it for life admin (why is everything an app nowadays?).
I browse the web.
I draw.
I translate.
I collect loyalty points.
I buy stuff.
I entertain my kids.
I buy/sell/give away stuff locally.
I identify plants.

Awesome news: I've just pushed a number of cool updates to bandwagon.fm - including newly revamped profile pages that are smarter, more streamlined, and easier to manage.

The new profiles highlight your albums, concerts, and news posts separately, showing each in its own customized layout.

If you're already a Wagoneer, then sign in to see the results of the spring cleaning. And if you're a musician and you're not on Bandwagon yet, well…. you know what to do :)

As part of a v2 of my last tricorder build, there are multiple things i'd like to improve. I think one of my biggest aesthetic problems has been solved. The v1 build relies on 6 visible screws at the top of the body, and there's no black "cap" on the top part of the shell. I've managed to design a piece that can print in PLA where prongs clamp onto a revised PCB. The clamps cause the PCB to be pulled against new tabs on the inside of the body.

via: blog.joinmastodon.org/2018/07/
