I wanted to recreate the feeling of a classic RPG so in the top scene script I have something that measures out 1/60th time and calls handle() on all the entities in the EntityLayer so they can move precisely one pixel per 1/60th regardless of video settings.

Those who know me know that I am not a huge fan of academic writing and publishing. Hell, the term “to publish” has been entirely co-opted by for-profit journals to mean “to gatekeep”.

So, inspired by @gedankenstueckeBastian Greshake Tzovaras, I am reclaiming the term by publishing academic(-adjacent?) work on my , in as non-academic (and non-awful) a writing style as I can get away with.

Die Schule von Sohn #2 gibt als Aufgabe, sich Musik und Texte mit der KI erstellen zu lassen. Dazu sollen sie unter anderen zu ChatGPT gehen, sich anmelden(!) und dann Dinge tun.

Siebtklässler sollen ihre Daten an einen amerikanischen Konzern geben, ohne dass sie aufgeklärt werden, was sie da tun.

Lernen mit neuen Medien finde ich gut, aber wenn nichtmal Lehrkräfte geschult sind KI ordentlich zu nutzen, kann man doch keine Kinder dazu bringen, sich dort zu registrieren. *kopfschüttel*

What's your favorite fake "common-sense" proof?

Example: one can write 1 as 1 + an infinite sum of zero-valued pairs (pic 1).

But if the series has no end and we never run out of terms, it must be valid to annotate it as shown in the second pic, netting 1 = 0.

Special Weather Statement, South Slopes Of The Eastern Brooks Range; South Slopes Of The Central Brooks Range; Upper Koyukuk Valley; Dalton Highway Summits; White Mountains and High Terrain South of the Yukon River, 2025-06-05 06:44 AKDT.

A very cold upper level Arctic low will be dropping south Thursday through the weekend. This will bring a much colder airmass to the area with snow levels slowly dropping to around 2000 feet across the Interior by Sunday night. Abundant moisture from a low in the Gulf of Alaska will bring rain and snow showers, with accumulating snow likely near Coldfoot and across summits of the Dalton Highway, Ray Mountains, and White Mountains. Other areas will see a mix of rain and snow. Highs will struggle to break 45 degrees even in valleys from Friday through Sunday, so areas that don't see snow will see cold rain. Winds will also be breezy, mainly on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday with gusts to around 20 mph.

Travelers should expect difficult travel conditions at times along portions of the Dalton Highway and over Eagle Summit along the Steese Highway. Outdoor recreationists should be prepared for very chilly and wet conditions.

This statement will be updated as details become more clear over the next few days. People in the area should stay up to date on the latest forecast information.
