A game I think a disproportionate amount about is

The Real Texas: store.steampowered.com/app/261

@PsySal was one of the earlier indies (it released way before the Steam date and came to Steam much later), and is part of why I went indie, but they never hit big fame. Which sucks! It's great!

maybe this is silly, but i can’t help seeing all these books about growing food or farming in labor-saving ways and feel like we need books like these bc we spent at least a century systematically denying community knowledge to spread like it had before

Just thinking about better ways to penalize corporations that break the law.

Fines are trivial and never keep pace with reality. Instead, what if companies had to give back a chunk of shares to the government? Issuing new shares that dilute existing shareholder value, and making the govt part owners. Effectively, nationalize the company in degrees with every breach of trust.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MUNICH (June 15th, 2025) - FAFO e.V. has announced today that it has successfully observed quantum tunneling effects between a tungsten probe (made with a pair of pliers) and a brass plate in a DIY scanning tunneling microscope that one of its members built a decade ago.

"Oh, we are tunneling!", exclaimed @rahix, lead Rust developer at FAFO, having never done this sort of work in his life before. "I think we can work with it", he claimed with full confidence.

A tungsten probe in some hot glued holder, attached with piezo crystals to an aluminium frame. Tension springs in the background form part of a dampening system.Oscilloscope waveforms showing control loop working. Maybe.

Earlier this year, I sat down for an extended interview with Lex Friedman on a variety of topics in mathematics, proof formalization, and AI. The edited (and nicely illustrated) form of the video, clocking in at over three hours, is now available: youtube.com/watch?v=HUkBz-cdB-

I came across this post that @littlest__freckleMarta Forsberg works with an called Föreningsarkivet Västernorrland, "which focuses on the workers' movement in northern Sweden" so I went to briefly explore it and came across this poster for the "Elefant-Cirkus" from 1897 that has some amazing

i'm back on a self-hosted instance, so #introduction

i'm ezra/alexander, i'm a 20s-something guy living in the netherlands (contrary to domain name, not in noord-brabant)

you might know me under my art alias, blakeana/bauhinia bc that's how i sign my stuff - and yes i do draw!

you can find my work on my website, https://androcross.nl/

i'm a contributor to wafrn, mostly in the departments of localization and graphic assets

sometimes when i have the budget i love travelling across the country because trains are very comfy...

i am kbity and eal 🐈🦭

i am very gay and unapologetically male, do what you want with this information. transmasc activism and joy isn't transmisogynist nor enroaching on other queers' rights.

if you're a pedo/zoo/necro or sexualize child-like and animal characters (not anthro furries, that is)/genitalia because "it's fictional so it's fine" then get lost, eat shit and die. i have my opinions on that but also it's a deep fucking trigger for me.

i'm a sufferer of c-ptsd, bpd, autism and some other conditions that are a perfect mix for violent meltdowns. this *does* impact how i interact with others and i ask for your patience.

i don't bite, you can talk to me, i like making friends but please don't ghost me after a while

Putting aside everything else that's wrong with streaming platforms, why is there still no "Report" option in Tidal or Spotify? A quite regular occurence is artist pages and New Releases playlists including tracks from impersonators with the same name. Absolutely no way to fight it.

digging around in my 2K Marin-era (2008-ish) archives and came across this outstanding error message, props to whatever IT(?) person decided to phrase a simple seat license conflict as "Human Combat Required":

windows 98 style message box with titlebar text "Human Combat Required", message text: "The human at "NOVW-SGUTIERREZ" is attempting to use your license. To satisfy honor, you must defeat this human in physical combat! Failing that, you must obtain a new license."
standard windows "OK" button below.
