I often crop my photos in an effort to make them more abstract/composed/whatever but that means I sometimes can't even remember what it was a photo of to begin with.

I started looking through uncropped versions of photos and thought it was interesting to see how they started and how they ended up, so I figured I'd share some examples.

These are all color to black and white because they show the biggest difference from start to finish.

Side-by-side photos of an original photo in color next to a cropped black and white version.

Both feature an upward shot of a ladder going up the side of a building with a circular cage where it appears as if the cage has been bent into an irregular shape, but the original shows more of the side of the building a surrounding buildingSide-by-side photos of an original photo in color next to a cropped black and white version.

Both feature a view of the Bay Bridge in the fog, but the uncrossed version shows more of the bridge and road with cars and the interior of a bus from where the photo was taken.Side-by-side photos of an original photo in color next to a cropped black and white version.

Both feature a puddle with buildings reflected in it, but the original shows more of the street and surrounding buildings and the cropped version has been rotated by about 180 degrees to make the reflection of the buildings appear right side up..Side-by-side photos of an original photo in color next to a cropped black and white version.

Both feature the platform for BART which is the mass transit system in the Bay Area, but the cropped version focus on two specific scenes: (1) Man waiting with his bike and (2) A different man walking two dogs

The most important thing to understand about Toronto’s approach to traffic safety is that - first and foremost - the life of any citizen is less important than the paint on any car.

Anyway, both of these pictures are across the street from a hospital and a school.

Coop sector receiving UK government attention. The article mentions digital infrastructure
thenews.coop/doubling-the-size
> Co-operative Network Infrastructure – trailblazing the way we own and manage digital infrastructure. This isn’t just broadband. It’s about co-operative ownership of the underlying tech and data that our entire economy increasingly depends on. Not having that in community hands is a risk the UK can’t afford to take.

'Call for evidence' is open, on the contributions of the sector.

말이 넘치는 시대, 가장 조용한 말들은 어디로 가는 걸까.

People here are currently busy illustrating that "the steady state of disks is 'full'" axiom. Keep N% of your filesystem empty for best performance? Oh, I wish.

(People could purchase more space on our fileservers, it's cheap and readily available, but the relevant suspects seem uninterested in doing so for now.)
