I very much agree with @pluralistic@mamot.fr's concerns that bsky need to *actually ship* meaningful, non-reversible federation (but also trust the folks involved to do that. There will be a *lot* of side-eyeing and loss of faith in progressive movements if they don't 😅).

Overview of current support and opposition for the Chat Control legislation by Patrick Breyer (https://www.patrick-breyer.de/en/posts/chat-control/). Countries opposing include the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Finland, and Estonia. Undecided countries are Germany, Slovenia, Romania, and Greece. Snow develops from Atigun Pass northward to about MP 370 on the Dalton tonight and continues through the day Thursday before ending Thursday night. Snow may mix with rain from Sagwon north but will remain mostly snow south of there, especially towards Toolik Lake and Atigun Pass. Snowfall totals will be around 3 to 6 inches in Atigun Pass and 2 to 5 inches from Toolik Lake to Sagwon. Snow accumulations north of Sagwon will drop off quickly.

Apple Photos App Corrupts Images

The Apple Photos app sometimes corrupts images when importing from my camera. I just wanted to make a blog post about it in case anyone else runs into the problem. I’ve seen other references to this online, but most of the people gave up trying to fix it, and none of them went as far as I did to debug the issue. I’ll try to describe the problem, and the things I’ve tried to do to fix it. But also note that I’ve (sort of) given up on the Photos app too. Since I can’t trust it to import photos from my camera, I switched to a different workflow.
