anagogistis · In late August 2025, I submitted two security reports to PureVPN under their VDP. Three weeks later, I’ve received no response, so I decided to publish the findings to inform other users. The issues affect both their GUI (v2.10.0) and CLI (v2.0.1) clients on Linux (tested on Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS, kernel 6.8.0, iptables-nft backend). Here’s what I found. 1. IPv6 Leaks Off-Tunnel After toggling Wi-Fi or resuming from suspend, the PureVPN client fails to restore IPv6 protections:

For privacy researchers, this thread is interesting. iOS allow apps to make network requests after push notifications.

Instagram (and others) appear to be using this to profile devices, eg retrieve device uptime without their customer opening Instagram.

Now that quote posts are a thing on Mastodon, we need an insufferably cutesy nickname for them that everyone hates but still gets used anyway.

To that end I nominate “Quoots”, a portmanteau of ‘quote’ and ‘toot’. I believe it’s the worst possible option, solidly cementing Mastodon in particular and the Fediverse in general as having the worst slang on the internet.

Logitech option+에서 Launch Pad를 버튼하나에 할당해 두었는데, 이번 Tahoe 26 업데이트 이후에 눌러보니 안된다. 찾아보니 이것들이 Launch Pad를 없앴네???

왜?왜!!!!!!

검색해보니 고마운 양반들이 터미널에서 이런저런 명령어를 따라하고 리부팅하면 예전 launch pad를 다시 볼 수 있어... 라고 친절히 유튭에 올려 놓았구나.
