In this age of disinformation and AI slop, it becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish what information is true or not online.

The lack of tone, diversity of cultures, and the fact that many people using social media in English aren't native speakers make it all harder to detect irony and serious-sounding jokes online.

Please be careful and make sure your jokes don't end up feeding the disinformation machine, even if you feel it's obvious to you. In doubt, at least use the popular markers "/s" (sarcastic) or "/j" (joke) or parentheses at the end to make this clearer.

Thank you 🙏💚

SSH3 is a new, faster SSH protocol built on top of HTTP/3 (QUIC + TLS 1.3). It offers several key advantages over classic SSH such as: Faster session setup, Supports modern authentication methods like OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, alongside traditional methods, enhanced security by being invisible to port scanning attacks, and more.

Keep your dirty hands off our children!

Some European politicians are using the children as a political weapon to pass anticonstitutional laws.

Do not consent your child's name to serve their dishonest purposes. Protect the children. Oppose

What would you recommend to someone learning to cook Indian food?

These are my top ten dishes to learn:

1. Chai/tea (seriouseats has a great recipe)
2. Dal (toor dal with a pressure cooker)
3. Rice (in a pressure cooker).
4. Chicken curry (pressure cooker)
5. Fish fry (shallow fry, semolina coat is optional)
6. Chapati/Roti
7. Dosa/Idli/Uthappam (store bought batter)
8. Dal Khichdi
9. Coconut Rice
10. Raita (to eat with a biriyani or veg pulao)

If you can make these and are able to enjoy them, that's a great start.

A thing I've learned: if someone asks me to make a minor improvement in something, it's way easier to just do the thing instead of being reactionary, even if I personally don't understand the entire impetus.

Changing branch names from "master" to "main" was one of those examples for me. It's not a big deal to do, and is just generally more accessible anyway. Its an absurd hill to die on.

"main" as the default branch name in git was our suggestion. it was Coraline who did the activism to make it happen, our involvement was limited to putting that option forward when there was a call for names.

we're really happy with that choice. it's been a few years and sometimes these things wind up feeling just as bad as whatever they replaced, but this one genuinely feels short, to the point, and free from hateful overtones.
