저는『월드 오브 워크래프트』의 새 확장팩이 나올 때마다 그 확장팩에서 개발자들이 한 선택을 보기 위해서 만렙까지는 찍어본다, 최근 몇 확장팩에서는 대장정을 따라서 즐겨본다는 제 나름의 규칙을 가지고 플레이해보고 있습니다. 용군단 때는 거의 초기에 했던 기억인데, 이건 나온 지 1년이 넘어서 다음 확장팩 계획이 발표되고 나서 플레이하기는 했지만, 아무튼 놓치지는 않았네요.
일단 제게 와우는 스토리를 보는 게임이라는 전제를 깔아야 합니다. NPC들이 살고 죽고, 고민하고 배신하고 절망하고 다시 서고… 그런 이야기를 내가 세계에 들어가서 즐길 수 있는 게임이 그렇게 많지는 않지요. 와우는 그런 게임들 중에서 장르가 레이드 테마파크… 아니 MMORPG이기 때문에, 다른 사람이랑 게임 같이 하는 걸 좋아하지 않는 제가 탈락하는 콘텐츠들이 있고, 인스턴스 던전과 레이드에 배치되는 스토리의 클라이막스들을 보고 저는 보통 돌아서야 했습니다. 그걸 빼고도 어쨌든 저는 게임을 즐길 수 있었으니, 좋았죠.
이번 확장팩에서 놀란 건 추종자 던전인데요, 엄밀히는 지난 확장팩 때 추가된 거지만 그 때는 이미 제가 만렙을 찍고 떠난 뒤라… 퀘스트 라인이 끝나는 지점에 혼자서 던전에 들어가서 그 이야기의 결말을 보고 나올 수 있어서 정말 기쁘네요. 심지어 레이드 던전조차, 최종 보스를 잡고 이야기 전개를 볼 수 있게 되어 정말 기쁩니다.
이야기 자체도 꽤 명확하고 좋네요. 빛을 잃은 안두인이 다시 서는 이야기. 보답받지 못하는 알레리아의 분투. 마그니와 모이라, 다그란의 가족 이야기. 호드 쪽 등장 인물들의 비중이 좀 있어야 하지 않나 하는 생각은 드는데요. 퀘스트, 영상, 퀘스트 진행을 방해하지 않는 별도의 대화 등, 여러 장치의 조합으로 노련하게 꾸며내어 좋네요.
이런 게임이 세상에 좀 더 있으면 좋겠습니다. 저도 하나 만들고 싶은데요.

Cursed idea: serve a Git repository as pages and use the Git repository revision as the ETag value for all of the pages. Hey, it's perfectly specification valid AFAIK, and you can just cache or store the current revision on startup (or checkout). Cryptographically hashing your file contents? Inspecting stat() results and doing things with them? Why bother. The Git revision's right there.
I'd say "free to a good home" but this idea is definitely not going to a *good* home. A fun one, maybe.

Don't gatekeep or harass people about the tools they use!
It's okay to gently offer a suggestion and ask their reasoning for using something, but constantly bugging them to use "X" or making them feel bad for using a thing that works for them is not good!
Let people use the tools that they know, work well with, and work well for them! Don't be an asshole!
But I would like to say, if at all possible, especially in the FOSS space, we should try to guide people away from using things that are built by bigots, abusers, transphobes, etc, those projects don't deserve the support.

그럼 이 사단이 난 게 카카오에 토스 문화가 유입되면서 발생한 일일수 있다는 거군.
개인적으로 토스 그다지 높게 평가하지도 않고 밖으로 나대는 것만큼 개발문화가 높다고도 생각하지 않다보니 어느 정도 수긍이 가는 댓들이다.
기존에 하던 어떤 일을 개혁하는 건 좋지만 그건 그 일에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 해야됨. 몰이해를 바탕으로 갈아엎는 게 어떻게 더 많은 가치를 만들 수 있겠나.
