Another year, another article from a Ruby person saying they avoided #Python because of its "one-- and preferably only one --obvious way to do things" attitude.

Two points:

1. The load-bearing word is not "one", or even "preferably": it's "obvious". If something comes along that is more obvious than the current preferred way, then that new thing is worth considering, even if it creates a second way to do things. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LA1Ir0s4icw)

one of the most common security reports we get in #curl is claims of various CRLF injections where a user injects a CRLF into their own command lines and that's apparently "an attack".

We have documented this risk if you pass in junk in curl options but that doesn't stop the reporters from reporting this to us. Over and over.

This is my face when I have quite a few binaries in /usr/sbin on my office Fedora desktop that aren't owned by any package. Presumably they were once owned by packages, but the packages got removed without the files being removed with them, which isn't supposed to happen.

(My office Fedora install has been around for almost 20 years now without being reinstalled, so things have had time to happen. But some of these binaries date from 2021.)

For CCH at #39c3, do I need the “Westex Verputzerband PVC quergerillt”, or can I also get a PVC Putzband of another brand like Tesa or Kip?

I imagine all PVC Putzband is going to behave very friendly towards the CCH’s walls?

I can get the latter at my local Baumarkt, while ordering the Westex costs more for shipping than for the product itself. 😬
