A little #FediForumFriday update: I've released a few versions of FIRES over the past week, each shipping a new feature:
- Support for importing into datasets from existing files
- Support for exporting datasets to mastodon compatible files (including a retraction list)
- Installer script for easy deployment (still testing & not ready for production)
- Various UI fixes

I've also a demo server live that I've shared with a few folks on the implementation side.

I'm exploring a few things:
- Typescript SDK for consumers
- Non-public Datasets
- Delta support for snapshots (if you don't care about all the individual changes)
- Additional administrative UI (account management, access token management)
- *Maybe* HTTP Message Signature based authentication for non-public datasets (stretch)

I'm also toying with a few major design changes, but that's a bit TBD, since I'd want to drop picocss at the same time, and improve the admin panel in general.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what I want in the 1.0.0 release, and also have some production readiness stuff to do.

아니에요 AI봇을 잡고 있는데 넘쳐나는 AI봇을 인간 직원으로는 잡을 수가 없어서(인간을 더 뽑아서 돈주기가 싫어서) 같은 AI로 정지를 굴리고 있어요. 그런데 그 AI는 일반 사용자랑 AI계정의 차이를 몰라요. 딥러닝을 하고는 있는데 AI계정이 일반 사용자랑 유사하게 행동을 하니까 그게 구분이 안가는겁니다. 그래서 AI계정과 일반사용자 계정을 그냥 같이 퉁쳐서 써는거에요. 그렇게 썰어도 어차피 많으니까. 그리고 일반 사용자라면 돌아올거라고 생각하니까. 그런데 AI계정 운영자들이 더 쉽게 돌아가는게 문제.

I'm really happy someone said it. I have felt really excluded in this environment and I could never really put my finger on it. A decade ago, I contributed a number of patches for an open source database project under my real name. It was one of the only enjoyable experiences I ever had with open source, because the database was a niche project, designed for a very particular kind of dataset, and the author immediately thanked me for the patches. He was clearly overworked and grateful. This is a feeling I now work hard to reproduce in my little cloister, where we'll keep working until we have something ready to explain itself. It feels like a shame that it has to be that way, because the second you give something a face, you're expected to compete.

Monoculture is a death spiral. I want to create things that reflects specific virtues and use cases I care about. I take a really dim view of people telling me to do something marketable. I want it to satisfy specific criteria. It's driven by me, not a market.
