What is Hackers' Pub?

Hackers' Pub is a place for software engineers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. It's also an ActivityPub-enabled social network, so you can follow your favorite hackers in the fediverse and get their latest posts in your feed.

We're building something for the Fediverse.

ActivityPub running on your phone. Your own server, your data stored locally. A relay handles your stable identity when you're offline.

One account, all formats. Short text, long articles, photos, videos. The UI adapts to your mood. Switch between text mode, photo grid, video feed, article editor based on what you feel like sharing.

Same network, same followers.

Early stages, but the foundation is solid. We wanted to share the progress.

Curious about the internals of traceroute? It’s a brilliant example of an accidental discovery in networking. I was working with `traceroute` yesterday and felt its cool to record a video and show how TTL makes this magic possible:

About 10 days ago, on November 8th, we organized the second-ever Django Girls workshop in Pescara 🐬

I finally found a moment to share a recap, a few photos and a big thank you to everyone who made this day so full of energy and smiles 🧡

It was a beautiful community moment, and I am already looking forward to the next event. 😃

Cloudflare's problems today confirmed what I have known for a long time: if a customer is down for half an hour due to some kind of server issue (disk replacement, etc.), they immediately start saying a way must be found to avoid it.
When it's Cloudflare that goes down for hours, they accept it with resignation.
