NTFSPLUS Driver Updated As It Works Toward The Mainline Kernel

Announced last month was the NTFSPLUS driver as a new NTFS file-system driver for the Linux kernel with better write performance and more features compared to the existing NTFS options. A second iteration of that driver was recently queued into "ntfs-next" raising prospects that this NTFSPLUS driver could soon attempt to land in the mainline Linux kernel...

Just because I had to dig this up for an article, here's a Wayback Machine link to where Starlink said lots of grand things about their commitments to making their satellites dark back in 2020 (no longer on the Starlink website, of course): web.archive.org/web/2021030402

I have been watching a lot of excitement about Mamdani, and now other positive political news is leaking into my feed, like the election of Seattle's new mayor, Katie Wilson (also a Democratic Socialist) Anything positive going on in the last month in German politics?

When I "trim" videos in Quicktime Player and upload them to Mastodon, once they arrive on Mastodon I find several seconds preceding the "start" that have somehow been reattached to the video despite me having trimmed it off

I assume this has something to do with keyframes but I don't know what to do about it

I have opinions about Go's forced switch to modules, and one of them is that it effectively destroyed one part of the Go 1 compatibility promise in practice.

I can take Go code from 2015 or 2019 and run it today. Sure, great. But I generally can't take a Go program from 2015 or 2019 and rebuild it today, not easily, because you can no longer build non-modular programs. Converting a Go program to modules is non-trivial, especially third party programs.

We invested trillions into AI and we got fuckbots and deepfakes. China invests billions into AI and they get automated factories, world-leading cheap electric cars, and super-efficient home heat pumps.

Tell me again about capitalism’s market efficiency.
