just replaced the internal HDMI to eDP adapter of the Reform Next laptop (in my hand) with a much simpler direct eDP adapter (on the right in the picture, using native eDP capability of RK3588 on the same pins). worked at first try incl devicetree change. this is a practical example of the benefits of the internal modularity of the MNT Reform Next

my left hand holding the relatively complex hdmi to edp adapter tile, and on the right behind it, the new direct edp adapter installed on the next's internal mounting grid

マウント径の制約がある以上、口径食の少ないレンズとなると自ずと開放f値の暗いレンズになってしまいますからねぇ……
Zマウントで中望遠でもf/1.8ですから…

When I travel I like to bring my laptop with me for some on the go programming or studying but an issue often came up: finding a place where I can sit with my laptop and my books.
In some trips I may use the hotel or hostel lounge or room. When it's not an option I usually stop to a McDonald's or a Starbucks but I'd love to skip these in favor of local cafes, the issue is that I don't want to be seen as a loiterer.
Big chains happily tolerate people who work and study there because its part of their business model but I'm not sure about smaller independent places.
How can I find places who are okay with that and as a rule of thumb how often should I order something to be a courteous guest?

I absolutely love how the MNT Pocket Reform can be a "cyberdeck foundation"

And tbh if I were gonna make a cyberdeck that had a completely different form factor I'd still use the guts of the MNT Pocket Reform setups and modify from there, even if I was just buying the gut-parts individually.

Two great Django Async projects highlighted in this week’s Django News.

DjangoRealtime, which is SSEs using Postgres as the messaging layer, and Django-Liveview, which lets you build real-time, reactive interfaces with Django using WebSockets, based on Channels.

Just two of the numerous Django projects out there leveraging async to let you build responsive, real-time applications. Go check them out! 🦄
