Hackers' Pub is a place for software engineers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. It's also an ActivityPub-enabled social network, so you can follow your favorite hackers in the fediverse and get their latest posts in your feed.
This was a wonderfully productive day so far. I learned how to set up my woodpecker CI server. Digged into goreleaser. Released some initial versions of my podcast player. And learned how to set up a homebrew tap and automatically update it with goreleaser. Maybe I should just go to bed now?

어쨌든 컴퓨터로 일하는 사람들은 앞으로 표준적인 사양 맞추면서도 최소 예전 대비 100만원 정도는 더 내야하는 상황이 계속 될 듯.

He seems to be a fan of the nested comments UI on Bluesky.
We have some great applications on the Fediverse. They could be made even greater with this improvement.

One thing that crashes Fediverse servers (maybe the most) is — caching.
And, in particular, their storage drivers filling up (due to caching), which crashes the server.
Fediverse servers cache profiles, posts, images, and other servers on the Fediverse.

@reiver@reiver ⊼ (Charles) …and it's not just the sheer amount of storage; prudent expiration and cleanup (e.g., #Enigmatick clears cache data each night that's greater than 30 days old) helps to manage that. It's the application load of pulling up the same records tens of thousands of times within a few seconds when new content is created (i.e., the fan-out of initial delivery and the resulting requests back for content).
I use Varnish and that helps a lot with the latter case. But a #FediCDN could be built on Varnish (like Fastly is) and provide decentralization in that service.

Indoors.
photonstophotos.net 에서 캐논 R6M3 DR 측정치를 공개. 듀얼 ISO는 기존 400에서 800으로 높아졌고, 300~800 구간에서는 기존 R8보다도 떨어지는 결과. 800부터는 다들 비슷.
소니 A7V는 400까지는 캐논 24MP에 비해서도 대략 1스탑 정도, 800까지는 R6M3에 대해서는 1.6스탑까지도 우위에 섬.
보통 야외 촬영에서 400~800 많이 쓴다는 점을 고려하면 1스탑 우위는 기대할 수 있고, 이는 판형 차이에 육박하는 수준. 물론 이게 사진에서 절대적인 차이를 내지는 않지만 보정폭에서는 무시할 수 없는 차이다.
캐논이 내년 쉽지 않겠네...

I like making my Mastodon fork behave exactly the way I want. One feature I miss from other platforms is videos that autoplay and loop muted. I'm going to implement that in my fork, just like on those other platforms. It will respect the system-wide reduce motion setting.
My goal is to keep Mastodon core as close to vanilla as possible and not overload it with features like glitch-soc, just improve the things I want, both in UI and functionality.
Being a MastoAdmin is nice, you get to build your own tools and learn new things.
