It took a full calendar year of episodes of excruciating, life-disturbing and very classic nerve pain to get a neurology referral that was accepted. Watching TikToks where medical providers all pat each other on the back for making the stupid joke about dropping everything to treat a "farmer" who comes in with pain, I wonder how long it would have taken if I were a different gender.

1 Desired an extremely lightweight and thin laptop
2. Found and bought such a laptop, even though it cost 600 bucks extra
3. Soon realized that many essential ports were missing
4. Threw another chunk of cash at a multi-port dongle the necessary, ugly tumor attached to my sleek new investment
5. Still unhappy, so spent another 250 bucks for a full blown docking station
6. The formerly 'thin' laptop is now permanently attached to a bulky peripheral hub and cluttered as the one I replaced! Perfect

Update: This made my morning! We tracked down the original artist of the amazing pugatee drawing, and they got back to me!

While they're not actively posting drawn art anymore, they do have a YouTube channel where they occasionally post music.

So, let's make Vondell's Monday better.

If you have a moment, check out their music, leave a nice comment, and tell 'em Alice sent you 💕

youtube.com/@itsvondell

An adorable drawing of a pug-manatee mashup, floating in a white void. It has the cutest, grumpy, smooshed-up pug face, and a furry manatee body with nubby tail and front flippers. It was originally drawn by Vondell on Tumblr, roughly a decade ago.oh wow, incredible sleuthwork by you and the thread!

this is, if memory serves, one of the first of my drawings that ever got wide traction on my tumblr when I believe I was still in high school, which would be followed by a prolific few years of being extremely active across different blogs as I pursued the beginning of a professional art career, ultimately becoming overwhelmed and scaling back just a twitter and instagram, then culminating with me falling away from social media as a whole and moving back to rural [place] where I now live and work full time at a farm animal rescue.

It's so wild to see that drawing after all this time and it has brightened my day quite a lot!

The only social channel or website I keep at the moment is my youtube channel @itsvondell, where I put my occasional mashup music projects and. I still draw and make art of all sorts, mostly for fun or for a handful of longtime clients, but it's been a while since I shared it very widely online like I used to. Who knows what the future may hold though.

I don't believe anyone else in the world shares [my username], so any account anyone ran into with any variation of [Vondell] is some snapshot of me from some point in time. For better or for worse, lol.

Anyway, you have my express permission and blessing to repost, repurpose, modify or otherwise use the pugatee drawing for any purpose you may want to!

Q for gurus:

In the process of switching my home network from *.local.lan to <realdomain>.com with pfSense router. I have some local services running on <realdomain.com> using DNS host overrides, and intend to supplement with some cloud services in the future.

There are 100+ devices on local.lan and I expect many things to break when I switch to <realdomain>.com.

Is there a clever way make the change slowly so that I'm not chasing down many problems all at once?

@mariusormarius yeah, it might be a good idea to think about CIMD. It uses the same schema of properties as dynamic registration, but you fetch them at authorization time instead. I implemented both in onepage.pub and it was pretty straightforward.
