What is Hackers' Pub?

Hackers' Pub is a place for software engineers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. It's also an ActivityPub-enabled social network, so you can follow your favorite hackers in the fediverse and get their latest posts in your feed.

I have too many projects.

I wonder if I could contract someone to migrate my WordPress to ClassicPress.

I wonder if I could contract someone to write a javascript that halts the loading of an html page and its other javascripts, presents a popup to gain consent to use webaudio, then allows the other javascripts to resume, to fix my webaudio asmjs apps I no longer have the source for.

if you can stand listening to me talk for 45 minutes, give it a watch and let me know if you think my premonitions were close to accurate given what we're seeing in security today.

One of the crappiest trends I’m seeing in my mentorship sessions today is people getting laid off from large corporations after 20-40 years of silo right now. It’s really appalling if not unexpected.

If you’ve been somewhere over 5, 10, 20 years it’s worth looking at your employability elsewhere.

this seems like a neat and cute kickstarter, having a good independent TLD is honestly very important for an open and fair internet: kickstarter.com/projects/dotme

still some ways to go for the 80k goal, but I totally think this is attainable if more people chip in

Hey Fedi! We have the chance to help save a cat on the internet!

I almost never post mutual aid requests, but I know this person, and I know what their cat means to them.

If you have a few dollars, I'm sure it would be very much appreciated by Derek (and even more so by Asher, despite the fact they're a cat and don't know what money is).

A citizen e-petition has been launched in the House of Commons calling on the Federal Government to its disallowance power to override Alberta and Saskatchewan’s use of the notwithstanding clause to violate the human rights of trans Canadians.

I like the attention to detail in Pluribus. I think it's the first time that an intravenous injection was shown correctly on camera (usually they just stab the patient with the needle perpendicular to the surface). We also learned that Zosia was from Gdańsk --and she pronounced it correctly (Karolina Wydra is a Polish-American actress).
