1. Kwanzaa is a made up holiday.
2. So is every other holiday.
3. Anyone can celebrate Kwanzaa.
4. It was created by Black, (mostly American and Christian*) people in the 1970s to celebrate Black history and the influence of African culture in the African diaspora and to assert the presence of Black people in US culture.
5. Most Black Americans don't celebrate Kwanzaa.
6. It is not a holiday tied to any particular religion.

이 글을 쓰는 순간에도, 약 백 명 가운데 한 명의 어린이가 자폐 스펙트럼증을 가지고 있다. 얼마나 많은 성인이 아스퍼거 증후군을 가지고 있는지는 알 수 없지만 분명 예전에 생각되던 것보다는 많을 것이다. 그동안은 사람들이 아스퍼거 증후군을 인지할 수 있을 정도로 충분히 이해하지 못했기 때문이다. 토니 앳우드와 같은 전문가들이 공식 성비에 의문을 제기하고 있음에도 불구하고 아스퍼거 증후군은 남성들이 여성들보다 네 배 많다고 믿어지고 있다. 나는 아스퍼걸들이 남성들만큼 많지만 단지 발견되기가 더 어려워서 그런 것이라고 믿는다. 모든 자폐인들이 어렸을 때 진단을 받지는 않는다. 그런데 유독 여성들은 자폐증 자녀를 갖고서야 난생처음 진단을 받는 경우가 많다.

며칠 전에 건어물 여동생 우마루 작가가 왜 연재가 급하게 끝났는지 유튜브에서 이야기를 함. 우등생에 미인이지만 집에 들어오면 늘어지는 친동생이 모델이었는데, 그만 불치병으로 돌아가셨다고. 애니도 나오고 작품 한참 인기있을 때여서, 작가가 정신적으로 견디기가 너무 힘들었다고 한다.
