該來的還是會來，塵埃必須落地，那這部長達兩小時的電影要如何作結？這不是結束，這是主創達夫兄弟在好萊塢的下一步證明。
這是五季故事的結束，沒有空間再放進新的逆轉，因為除了要交待所有支線的結束，還要處理所有角色的情感。大結局不是真正太出彩的完結，它不像過去每一集有刻意安排的「絕體絕命→意外救援來到」的套路，但它依舊有些橋段能逼觀眾感受絕望，很明顯，這些絕望都建構在觀眾對結局的渴望。如果你從未看過前面的《怪奇物語》，那就無法理解這部大結局的樂趣。
這是基於情感的結局，以一群小孩冒險為主題的作品，無論有哪些大魔王要害他們，時間都是無可避免來到的巨大力量，他們要放下不成熟，被迫接受現實，這就是無論你是否看過《怪奇物語》、每個人都必須面對的成長。
因此處理情感比製造任何戲劇效果都重要，觀眾已經等了十年了。達夫兄弟的《怪奇物語》結局與《黑道家族》等神劇結局不同，它不是冷酷中隱含溫情，它是滿滿的溫情懷抱，它就是要讓你回憶、哭、笑、然後幻想小屁孩長大後的模樣。
用這部電影判斷達夫兄弟能否拍好下一部2小時電影未必可行，但至少能讓老客人滿意。
