從網上流傳的片段可見，事發時有一大群年輕人在海濱起哄。身穿白色一字肩針織毛衣的少女疑與另一名背手袋少女有積怨，並質問對方：「無下次？你上次都同講我無下次？畀幾多次下次你？」期間圍觀的人群中，有人突然出手猛力推受害少女背部，令她撞向露肩女。露肩女誤以為對方還擊，隨即爆粗「再整X我？」並開始動粗。身旁一名男伴見狀，隨即脫下自己的黑色口罩給露肩女戴上，似乎意圖掩飾身份。
