I'm anticipating a lot of grief in 2026 after a hard end to 2025, so I'm not looking forward to the many January conversations about everything to look forward to in 2026

You can't skip processing grief and jump straight into hope. The grief will consume you and turn into despair, or you'll internalize and repress the trauma and metabolize it into despair via a different path.

Or, I don't know, maybe some people can grieve and hope at the same time, but I know not the way of it. Regardless, humans need to feel the feels. Don't get in the way of that, for yourself nor for anyone else.

Grief sucks. Let it suck. Don't go through ALL of it alone even if you need to be alone for some of it. And consider talking to a therapist as part of that.

If you’ve been following the local-first scene over the past few years, you already know a good definition for the term “local-first” is hard to pin down. Part of the reason is that most people write software for money … and true local-first software is harder to capitalize. “Local-first” is a direct attack on vendor lock-in of all forms: data, formats, protocols, apps, services, and even environments. But the fact your employer can’t exploit this technology with a new revenue model (yet) is a minor problem.

요즘 서구 웹 일각에서 00년대 인터넷의 느낌으로 돌아가려 하는 "indie web" 트렌드가 보이고 있네요. html 직접 편집해서 gif 이미지와 동맹배너 등으로 가득한 옛날 느낌의 개인 웹사이트를 만드는 게 소소하게 유행 중입니다. 이를 위한 전용 호스팅 서비스도 생겼더군요. neocities.org 이름에서 기시감 느끼는 분들 있을 텐데, 맞습니다. 그 시절 서구 웹 호스팅의 대명사였던 GeoCities의 패러디입니다. 우리나라로 치면 카페24 같은 곳.

제미나이 무섭네... 스레드에서 재미있는 분석글을 넣고 질문들을 던졌더니 각 회사들의 기술적 추구점을 잘 정리해준다. 비록 홍보물과 인터뷰, 리뷰들의 정리일지라도 압도적인 양을 정리하니 어느 정도 관점이 잡히는구만.;

Chaos Computer Club (CCC) je největší hackerská organizace v Evropě a již více než čtyřicet let zprostředkovává komunikaci v oblasti technického a sociálního vývoje.

Jeho aktivity sahají od technického výzkumu a průzkumu na okraji technologického vesmíru přes kampaně, akce, politické poradenství, sdělení až po provoz anonymizačních služeb a komunikačních prostředků. Klub se skládá z decentralizovaných skupin v německy mluvících zemích, které organizují pravidelné akce a setkání.

CCC zprostředkovává své zájmy prostřednictvím různých publikací a usiluje o dialog s technicky a sociálně zainteresovanými osobami a stejně smýšlejícími lidmi. Vyžaduje a podporuje zábavu s přístroji a žije podle zásad hackerské etiky.

most recent unstable update has an update to nodejs, which i got the details by plugging in nix store diff-closures on the last two nix profiles:-

this alone took close to half an hour because of a fuckton of build steps and a shitton of cpu cycles. bizarre.
