Last night we went to a friend's party in the Old Port in Montreal. We left the party around 3am, a little too late to take the extended Metro service back to the Plateau. I tried getting us an Uber or a Lyft, but they were exorbitant and unavailable. So, we trudged a few blocks through the dumping down snow, and picked up the night bus outside the Notre Dame basilica.

As a consequence of the situation I described in this blog post (most of the existing blogs in my feed reader turning to either "AI" boosterism, becoming outright bad writing, ignorant, or all of the above) I'm slowly going through my feed reader and unsubscribing from hundreds of blogs.
This is delayed by the fact that NetNewsWire has very quickly become incredibly buggy. Unsubscribing is incredibly laggy and often removes the WRONG feed for some reason.

AI 표절 논란은 학자들의 정확한 검증이 나올때까지는 중립으로 보는게 맞다고 개인적으로 생각함.
각자 다른 회사가 만든 AI의 임베딩이, 마치 같은 계통에서 파생된 것처럼 유사해지는 현상을 다룬 논문들이 이미 꽤나 나와있는걸 고려했을 때
단순히 임베딩이 너무 유사하다! 를 주장하는 것 만으로는 결정적인 표절 증거가 되긴 어렵다고 생각함.
소수의 데이터 공급자가 다수의 AI 기업을 상대하는 상황이라면 이런 현상은 더 심해질 수 있다고 봄.

最近幾天雖然寫作艱難，但是內心其實一直在做回顧，今天嘗試把新一年的計劃條理化，在寫下主題後，又回顧了一下前幾年我的生活主題，想起在我最艱難的那一年曾經擁有過的東西，我覺得就算在很多年以後我也會記得那個時候擁有過的珍貴的溫暖。

# 2025回顧
去年最大的收穫應該是，對於「投資印尼」的徹底幻滅。這是我一個長達十幾年的迷思，基本概念是「想趁著基期低的時候買進不動產」，但其中有兩個根本的問題，共通處在於：主導權不在我手裡。首先，資金不是我的，是我爸的；其次，從挑選物件到登記成交，完全要透過我老婆娘家人來執行。
說是在「印尼」買地，但標的不會在雅加達、不會在泗水、甚至不會在 Banyuwangi 市區，我今年從印尼回台後，獲得的巨大醒悟是：老婆的娘家人就是鄉下的一群農民，「買地」在他們的世界觀裡就是「在家附近買田」；不論是我爸期待的，在市區買間店面，或是我期待的，買間民宿等觀光起飛——只要需要透過娘家人來執行，就完全不可能發生。
這一度讓我非常憤怒，這十幾年來，我花了多少心力在蒐集印尼的各種資訊，研究各種可以用於鄉下的創業點子，但礙於各種原因，我沒辦法親自執行，所以就不可能實現。我這些年的心血全部白費了，然後我繼續一窮二白，只不過帶家人去吃個古拉爵、結帳時手還會抖。
我一點都沒有想貶低印尼，依然覺得這個國家多采多姿、潛力無窮，我去雅加達拜訪的那些朋友，都是各自領域的佼佼者，尤其開源社群的幾個夥伴，真是屌炸天了；但我從此對於「鄉下人」徹底倒彈，娘家親戚就只是做為「我老婆的負擔」的一群存在，與我再也沒有直接關係。
這個醒悟真的非常有價值，我開始把心力拿來研究日本，研究歐洲，這些照理說更有錢景的地方。
