They seem cute and funny until I get to the end and realise they're AI. And then I just feel like I've been scammed.
It feels more deceptive than a "based on true life" movie. Though I don't know why.
At any rate, no more clicking on pet videos.
Perhaps this is how YouTube dies. Perhaps that's for the best.

As a consequence of the situation I described in this blog post (most of the existing blogs in my feed reader turning to either "AI" boosterism, becoming outright bad writing, ignorant, or all of the above) I'm slowly going through my feed reader and unsubscribing from hundreds of blogs.
This is delayed by the fact that NetNewsWire has very quickly become incredibly buggy. Unsubscribing is incredibly laggy and often removes the WRONG feed for some reason.

After digging into a series of papers that describe basically exactly what I want in a programming language, I found out that a research group is already building a language that does like 90% of what my hypothetical dream language would be. And they’re actively developing it. And they are certainly much better at this than me.
I’m happy that a language which I actually like may be a reality soon? But I’m also feeling deflated, and I’m sure that the tyranny of small differences is going to make me annoyed with any little bike sheds which I have against their language.
I guess I’m not sure how to proceed. Maybe I’ll reach out and ask if there’s anything I can help with (though the compiler is written in a language I’m not familiar with) or maybe I can write documentation or libraries or something.
Very mixed feelings today.
