If you use an AI-generated image for your article/post, this indicates to me you might have also used AI-generated text.

If you use AI-generated text for your article/post then:

1- I have no idea if you verified the veracity of any claimed facts.

2- I have no idea what your own voice is.

3- I have no idea if this truly expresses your own views, and if you even cared to read it.

4- I have no idea what your intention is with this, other than exploiting my attention and clicks with the least amount of efforts on your part.

5- This shows me you have no respect at all for the labour that was stolen to build these tools, exploiting millions of artists and writers to make billions of dollars without any compensation to them whatsoever.

Why would I want to engage with any content like that?

• I don't want to communicate with a machine (I can do that by myself).

• I don't want to participate in this disgusting exploitation of artists and writers.

• And I want to communicate with another human, of course.

If your intention isn't to communicate with another human, then stop deceiving them making them think they are :no_ai:

@Em0nM4stodonEm :official_verified: I've been trying to pitch this at work since I started -- everyone else uses LLM generated cover art for the company blog (even though the text is all human-written) and I just make mine in Inkscape; nobody believes me that potential readers will be turned off by the obvious AI slop. One of my hopes for 2026 is that Business Thought Leaders realize that slop is a turn-off.

Windows
pcgamer.com/software/linux/im-

While they are creating fake AI "assistants," fake AI "employees," fake AI "therapists," fake AI "friends," and fake AI "lovers" even, they are dividing us.

While we are divided, they win.

While we are divided, we are easier to control, easier to exploit, and it makes it much harder for us to resist and fight back for our rights.

When all your friends are AI "friends," who will come to the protest with you when you have nothing left?

Kind of fascinated that this article goes into a lot of detail and yet doesn't mention, at all, that a copy of Tripitaka on CD has been held by an archive since the early 00s? Not publicly available, but... seems relevant when writing about preservation. polygon.com/features/602220/co

So like, with Wayland*. If you have multiple monitors, can you *intentionally* rig one monitor to be controlled by one compositor and another by another? If doing this, would it make more sense to let one compositor take both screens & make the other a sub-compositor; or to tell regular compositor "ignore this screen" and launch a second compositor on it?

* Normal configuration on this laptop is Debian Trixie, GDM, GNOME DE with mostly stock settings.
