This chart shows the total number of Stack Overflow questions asked each month. As you can see, AI summaries in Google and AI coding tools have nearly killed the site. It is only a matter of time before the site shuts down completely. The golden age of independent news, blogs, forums, and specialized sites like Stack Overflow is over. Whether this is good or bad, only time will tell. The graph shows the number of questions asked on StackOverflow over time, from the site's launch in 2009 until now, the start of 2026.
Initially there is a steady increase until 2014, when the number hits an all-time peak at over 200 000 questions. Then begins a slow decline. This might be correlated with StackOverflow's change of moderator policies at the time.
In early 2020 there is a sudden steep increase, which coincides with the start of the Covid-lockdown, but shortly afterwards the decline continues, faster than before. This might be related to the fact that in mid-2021, StackOverflow was sold to a private equity investor.
In late-2022 begins a very steep decline, which is when ChatGPT (and Google AI summary later on) came out. Since then the decline has continued and today the number of questions asked is almost 0. The sleight of hand – or the fundamental flaw – of this observation, is that it took their team a year to understand the problem by actually building a thing. Once you deeply understand a problem, it's trivial to get the dumb code vomit machine to produce code.
But producing the code is not the hard part, and using the code vomit machine is not a great way to build a system you understand from scratch if you haven't already solved the problem.
So the shortcut is a mirage.

Like, if you described something like this to me I could probably write something that "isn't perfect" in a few days; any really good engineer should be able to. (Also: never underestimate the cost of getting from rough draft to production.)
The key would be describing it in detail, and to do that you'd have to already know what you were going to write.
The year is a year of debate, trial and error, etc. The code is almost never the hard part.
You might not notice it in your peer group, when you are not their age, but my daughter showed me that many 20-30yr olds are switching to dumb phones, are cancelling their Facebook/tiktok/twitter accounts and are discovering libraries and printed books. As a conscious decision. Not all of them, but quite a lot and it's growing.

마지막으로 물류 병목 장악입니다. 쿠바와 베네수엘라는 각각 멕시코만과 카리브해로 가는 길. 그러니까 미국의 생명선인 파나마 운하의 안정과 매우 깊게 관계되어 있습니다. 미국 동-서부간 물류망 안정화의 가장 중요한 작업이죠.
이 정지작업을 통해 미국은 모든 역량을 중국에 투사할 수 있게 됩니다.

둘째는 배터리입니다. 쿠바는 상당량의 코발트와 니켈을 보유하고 있습니다. 현재 상당수 중국으로 수출되는데, 쿠바 정권을 뒤집어 엎으면 이 니켈을 미국 내로 돌리게 됩니다.
두 자원 모두 배터리의 핵심 재료로, 각종 무기 체계 및 데이터센터에 많이 쓰입니다. 현재 미국의 니켈 공급망은 15%가량이 중국발이라 (중국과의 분쟁을 상정한다면) 굉장히 취약한 구조라는 평가를 받습니다. 그래서 지난 2024년에는 필리핀 HPAL 공장에 일본을 파트너로 투입하겠다고 소위 '니켈 삼각동맹'을 발표한 바 있습니다.

가만히 생각하면서 다른 이슈들과 엮어보니 그젠가 남천동에서 임경빈 작가가 캐나다의 한국 내 텅스텐 광산 투자와 관련해 말헀던, 미국 중국이 크게 한번 붙었다가 다시 붙으려고 체력을 보충하고 있다<- 는 정세분석이 굉장히 잘 맞아떨어집니다.
베네수엘라에 이어 쿠바를 엮어서 해상 루트를 안정화시키면 미국은 중국의 영향력을 상당히 제거하게 됩니다.
첫 번째가 SIGINT입니다. 쿠바 내에는 베후칼 등 여러 곳에 중국의 SIGINT 장비가 있다고 알려져 있습니다. 쿠바 정권을 친미쪽으로 뒤집어 세우면 이거부터 뒤집어엎겠죠.
