As a newbie, I'm continuing with the .
The bosses... Moose and Kacang (pronounced KAH-chang not Ka-CHANG).
They came to stay temporarily when my daughter (their "mum") couldn't find accommodation that would permit animals. That was about 4 years ago now, and for one reason or another, they are now permanent, and very welcome, residents in our home.
Moo is the black & white fluffy one and likes reading, and Kacang is the white & black short-hair, and enjoys houseplants.

Photographic side-on portrait of our fluffy tuxedo cat, Moose. As a tuxedo, she is black almost all over, but has a white chest, and a partially white face.
She is pictured gazing into space while sitting in front of the piles of books on our very overcrowded bookcase.Photograph of our short-hair cat, Kacang. From this angle she looks almost completely white, showing just small touches of black on her head around her ears, on her back, and leg. Her eyes are startlingly beautiful against her white hair, almost as if she is wearing black eyeliner.
She's sitting on a table in front of a small yucca plant. The leaves of the plant look like they are sprouting out of the top of the cat's head.
The yellow wall to the side is so brightly sunlit that it looks orange where Kacang and the yucca cast distinct shadows.

I gave a lightning talk at a bunch of conferences in 2025 about some of the exciting new things coming in Python 3.14, including template strings.

One thing we can use t-strings for is to prevent SQL injection. I illustrated this with xkcd 327 aka “Little Bobby Tables”.

I localised most of the slides for the PyCon I was at, including this comic. Here they are!

Everything You Need to Know About Email Encryption in 2026

If you think about emails as if they're anything but the digital equivalent of a postcard--that is to say, they provide zero confidentiality--then someone lied to you and I'm sorry you had to find out from a furry blog that sometimes talks about applied cryptography. CMYKat At the end of 2025, at the 39th Chaos Communications Congress in Hamburg, Germany, a team of security researchers posted some devastating…

TIL a great phrase: “no pasarán!” One of the moderators on our team mentioned it as part of her 2026 well wishes to the mod team.

It basically means “they shall not pass” in reference to fascists. It had a rich etymological history, beginning in France and moving to Spain. Originating in opposition to Nazis and fascists.

Hey Guys, gals, people and pets, Satya Nadella is getting tired of people calling AI Slop output AI Slop. If everyone can stop that's be great as it is upsetting Microslops share holders.

Don't start calling Microslop Microslop or use the tag as it might burst the AI bubble and then Microslop might have to take SlopPilot out of Windows. As you know, that would be terrible.
