Hi, everyone. I've just published version 2.87 of , the simple, minimalistic instance server written in C. It only includes a single change, to avoid using EmojiReacts to harass users:

Hide EmojiReacts from muted actors and blocked instances.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Bad people creativity always gets me off-guard. Upgrade your snac to this version ASAP, or revert to 2.85.

There will be another release pretty soon with a better solution to delete offending EmojiReacts.

Nachdem ich grad viele schöne Posts zum von @marcuwekling lese:

Wenn ihr einen Email­anbieter wechselt, oder eine Homepage, Blog etc habt: kauft euch eine Domain. Kostet ab 6€/Jahr, ihr könnt sie mit der Familie gemeinsam nutzen¹, und ihr habt eine² Mailadresse, die euch gehört.³

Das bedeutet ihr könnt Email-Anbieter wechseln, oder Blogs- oder Homepage-Hoster etc, und die Adresse bleibt gültig. Das ist wie die Mobil­telefon­nummer zum neuen Anbieter mitnehmen: alle eure Kontakte bleiben erhalten, ihr müßt niemandem eine neue Adresse mitteilen.

Wenn ihr wechselt, sorgt dafür, daß ihr zukünftig schmerzfrei nochmal wechseln könnt.

Surprised how many comments a post of mine[1] generated on @lwnLWN.net after it became "Distributions quote of the week" recently: lwn.net/Articles/1051002/

A lot are discussing using mock hardware for testing – which I guess falls into the "sounds easy in theory, especially if you are unaware of all the details in the field, but is actually really hard" category.

There was also a question if I suggested testing in "production". Answered with "yes" – of course with a "choose wisely where it makes sense and where it might be a bad idea" clarification.

■参加要件

・参加表明時点でサイレンス等のアカウント措置を受けていない方

・アテクシが提示するルール、雀荘でのマナーを遵守できる方
・開催箇所が雀荘であるため、未成年者の参加は固くお断りします
　(きくりちゃんと初対面の方は年齢がわかるものを提示していただきます)

ok, I think I'm done with this project?

it now plays conway's game of life and creepy noises, all from a single STM32G431 MCU with minimal external components, which is really all you can want from some lowfi analogue TV stuff.

In the process of making the audio work I ended up changing from channel 2 to channel 3 to get rid of the interference from the 48MHz clock I use for audio, which also means I'm running the CPU faster and get a little bit more processing time. Number of external components is now 4 resistors for mixing the baseband video signal and 5.5MHz audio carrier. Unfortunately going to the higher frequency also meant losing some signal quality, since I'm operating the internal opamp even more out of spec. Or maybe I'm just unlucky and there is more interference on that frequency here.
