musk, CSAM mention

I just, like, how much more fucking cartoonishly villainous can you be? "The nazi salute giving half-trillionaire who cut aid programs for the poor runs a child porn site that is powered by poisoning a Black neighborhood"

Greenland's history

Denmark colonised Greenland in the 18th century when missionary Hans Egede arrived in 1721, marking the start of the colonial era. In 1916, the United States bought the Danish West Indies - now the U.S. Virgin Islands - for $25 million in gold. As part of that treaty, Washington declared it would not object to the Danish government extending its "political and economic interests to the whole of Greenland," formally recognising Danish sovereignty.

“If it is in our power to prevent something bad from happening, without thereby sacrificing anything of comparable moral importance, we ought, morally, to do it.”

Peter Singer

Why is this so radical? Because, according to Singer, most of us in the affluent world metaphorically walk past such a shallow pond [with a drowning child] every day of our lives. You, reader, are probably one of those to whom Singer’s argument is addressed.

David Edmonds, Death in a Shallow Pond.
