Quick reminder that mass deportation has happened before. It's an integral part of growing up latine in America. We've been writing about it, we've been talking about it, we've been protesting about it. My middle school was doing walk outs over immigration policy, we debated it in highschool, I had to keep my birth certificate on me in college in case I got pulled over. Since ~2003, when my coding skills were good enough to meaningfully contribute to FOSS projects, I have released code I’ve written for over a hundred projects.
Their licenses usually have an attribution clause (“if you use this, mention that in your project or product”).
A relatively simple request that is easily followed and usually honoured.
Now you get your code from an accountability arbitrage machine and you feel attacked when we don’t like you stealing from us?

LLM users, despite being aligned with the owner class, are really desperate to paint themselves as victims and their behaviour as neutral and I absolutely cannot with this bullshit. It’s such an inexcusably bad attitude to have, and framing it in terms of dietary preferences is hilarious when you consider the moral and environmental arguments that kind apply to both anti LLM positions and veganism. Absolute inability to explore their own poor analogies, presumably because their chatbot didn’t connect the dots for them.
The video here is harrowing, but the woman refusing entry to ICE gets stronger and stronger throughout. She also exercises her rights with skill and knowledge, doing so precisely as she should have. Every American should watch.
