ethically speaking, i hear you. i pretty much intend for my own code to be treated as if it were public domain even though i technically use more restrictive licenses, because I never plan on enforcement anyway
i suspect though there's an eventual question of "how much of the human interacting with things counts", like, if I prompt claude and then tweak it, maybe that counts, but gastown produced code may not we'll see how it goes

US government contracts are all nepotism and ring-kissing nowadays, and this admin specifically *wants* the government to be broken

speaking of which, say your software is so bad it breaks the law. on the off chance you do get prosecuted (you won't, not by the feds at least), the punishment will probably be a fine that is less than the amount of monthly revenue you get from people who forgot to cancel their subscription. same for a civil case. there is simply no downside right now to shipping software that sucks, so why *not* generate it stochastically

When I create a new toot -- a `Note` in ActivityPub parlance -- my server sends a `Create` activity to everyone I addressed in the toot.
When I edit that `Note`, my server sends an `Update` activity to all the recipients of the original `Create` activity.
That happens pretty quickly -- seconds or minutes, usually.

There's a few ways to do this, if you intend to try. The first one, and the one I personally agree with, is what the FSF says, which is to use Creative Commons Zero: creativecommons.org/publicdomain...
so one issue here is that the concept of "public domain" does not exist in every jurisdiction... and some countries have a concept of "moral rights" that you cannot fully give away.
