A simple question: do you know who I am?

(If this could be boosted so not just my friends, moots, and oomfies see this, that'd be great... and probably rightfully skew the "no" votes.)

uspol, ai software dev

b2b customers have the same problem with monopolies, and anyway they're all buying intentionally bad software soaked in sparkle emojis just to "stay relevant in the age of AI." US government contracts are all nepotism and ring-kissing nowadays, and this admin specifically *wants* the government to be broken

speaking of which, say your software is so bad it breaks the law. on the off chance you do get prosecuted (you won't, not by the feds at least), the punishment will probably be a fine that is less than the amount of monthly revenue you get from people who forgot to cancel their subscription. same for a civil case. there is simply no downside right now to shipping software that sucks, so why *not* generate it stochastically

💎 Another gem silently released within r2-6.0.8 was carefully crafted by @oleavr who tweaked the build system to get an XCFramework ready to be used for iOS and macOS development 🍎

That's compiled in the GitHub CI and ships the most common libraries and plugins of to create native apps in

The SwiftyR2 repository provides an easy, safe and asynchronous API that's based on top of the zero-dependency and self-contained libraries of (which are also directly available from Swift without the need to create wrappers or bindings).

What the actual fuck? ICE has been holding three members of the Oglala Sioux tribe in detention since Friday. Tribal members are US citizens by statute.

Homeland Security is refusing to release any information on these tribal members, other than first names, until the tribe enters into an "immigration agreement" with ICE. Again, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?

sometimes I get mad that the Windows 11 OpenSSH fork doesn't support agent forwarding and then I remember how long it takes to open a Powershell Session on Windows and I have sympathy for the people trapped in this hellscape of a software environment

Last night with no warning, RFK Jr. cancelled up to $2 billion in funding for mental health and substance abuse research and programs administered through SAMHSA.

We are collecting information on terminated SAMHSA grants at Grant Witness:

grant-witness.us/submit-samhsa

If you worked on one of these programs, please let us know at the link! And please share with your colleagues. We need a comprehensive record of these terminations to fight back!

@cogdogAlan Levine No. Sorry, what you're describing doesn't have anything to do with the shared inbox.

When I create a new toot -- a `Note` in ActivityPub parlance -- my server sends a `Create` activity to everyone I addressed in the toot.

When I edit that `Note`, my server sends an `Update` activity to all the recipients of the original `Create` activity.

That happens pretty quickly -- seconds or minutes, usually.

Does that answer the question?

Commiserating with my wife who is being called in for jury duty selection:

"It's gonna be ok"
"They may not pick you"
"It might be a short trial"

Personally I liked jury duty and would do it again in a heartbeat. How often do you get paid a pittance to be a true life detective and solve crimes?
