New York City's pension funds are considering resuming investments in Israeli government bonds, a move that would channel public money into Israel’s treasury despite the ongoing war in Gaza.
The proposal, backed by the city’s chief financial officer Mark Levine, has put him at odds with Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who supports divestment over Israel’s conduct.
The investment amounts to direct funding for Israeli policies linked to settlement expansion, civilian casualties, and violations of international law.
Israel said that it was not consulted on the announcement of a committee to administer the Gaza Strip, arguing the move runs counter to Israel’s positions and policies regarding the future of the enclave.
“The announcement regarding the composition of the Gaza Executive Board (to run Gaza), which is subordinate to the Board of Peace, was not coordinated with Israel and runs contrary to its policy,” the Israeli PM’s Office said.

I truly want to purchase a M5 MacBook (air or pro). I also truly want to wake up from the dream and insist in preparing the day during the war where our clouds/account will be locked/exploited by Donald. As much as I love the hardware, the experience, the integration with my devices, i am as much worried about all this not surviving remote locking.
Then there is the thinkpad way of life, where laptops are bulky and un-sexy as hell. But really owned and less likely to be locked (?) in case of conflict.
If I could find a slim yet solid laptop, arm64, some kind of BSD MacBook Air with 32Gb/2Tb, I would be happy.

약간 그 느낌이다. 집에서 혼자 프랑스어 공부하고 있다가 어디가 막혀서 옆집 이탈리아 사람에게 물어보는거. 어디가 문제인지는 알겠는데, 답이 나오는건 아님. 그대로 적용해도 뭔가 이상하고, 그런다고 응용을 해도 답이 삐꾸남.
