With EchoCrate, I'm tackling the persistent frustrations of running a single-user instance in the Fediverse.

Traditional setups often deliver a subpar experience: profile updates from accounts you follow can arrive delayed or not at all, entire conversation threads (especially deep replies) frequently fail to load properly, and countless other small but annoying gaps in federation create a disjointed feel compared to centralized platforms.

EchoCrate addresses these peoblems preemptively.

捲入台灣女網紅謝侑芯命案的馬來西亞歌手黃明志，周一（19日）因涉毒案件在馬來西亞出庭。據當地傳媒報道，控方今次加控新罪名，指黃明志涉嫌持有冰毒，以及俗稱「偉哥」的西地那非（Sildenafil）。黃明志否認控罪，其後在社交平台發文反駁，強調「重點我的尿液檢驗裏面兩樣都沒有」，並指當日只是開庭起訴，案件尚未正式開始。

馬來西亞《中國報》報道，主控官在庭上修改控罪中的毒品種類，由原先指黃明志持有5.12克疑似搖頭丸的毒品，改為持有1.57克冰毒，涉嫌觸犯《危險毒品法令》。若罪成，可被判最高罰款10萬令吉（約19.2萬港元）、或監禁最多5年，或兩者兼施。

除涉冰毒外，控方亦追加控罪，指黃明志涉擁有0.78克俗稱「偉哥」的西地那非，涉嫌觸犯《毒藥法令》。一旦罪成，可被判最高罰款5萬令吉（約9.6萬港元）、或監禁最多5年，或兩者兼施。

For obvious reasons, I want to move from the .com version to the .eu hosted version.

There's no "one-click" way to do it. Instead, there's lots of exporting data, creating new accounts, importing, deleting old ones.

That wouldn't be so bad, but I have a family plan and would have to do this for several people. That's going to be a logistical nightmare.

Why can't they offer an easy migration to paying customers?

But to free ourselves from the chains of technology, we must not only ask the questions we are encouraged to ask when faced with a new technology – like ‘how does it work?’, ‘when can I use it?’, and ‘how much easier will it be to do X?’ We must also ask the questions that the essence of technology discourages us from asking – like ‘do I even need technology for this?’, ‘what does this technology prevent me from doing?’, and ‘what will my life be like if I trust this tool to make this process easier?’”
