This vote buys time, not solutions. The fight is now squarely on DHS and Republicans are on their back foot. Red Spider Planetary Nebula from Webb

The Red Spider Planetary Nebula shows the complex structure that can result when a normal star ejects its outer gases and becomes a white dwarf star. Officially tagged NGC 6537, this two-lobed symmetric planetary nebula houses one of the hottest white dwarfs ever observed, probably as part of a binary star system.

Internal winds flowing out from the central stars, have been measured in excess of 1,000 kilometers per second. These winds expand the nebula, flow along the nebula's walls, and cause waves of hot gas and dust to collide. Atoms caught in these colliding shocks radiate light shown in the featured false-color infrared picture by the James Webb Space Telescope. The Red Spider Nebula lies toward the constellation of the Archer (Sagittarius). Its distance is not well known but has been estimated by some to be about 4,000 light-years.

Got a bug today asking if the colors in the X.Org bitmap editor were intentional, and had to admit, those were what someone actually chose 35 years ago, though I think most people run it in black-and-white to avoid seeing them.

A new image from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope of a portion of the Helix Nebula highlights comet-like knots, fierce stellar winds, and layers of gas shed off by a dying star interacting with its surrounding environment. 생각

소월옥은 면 요리를 내는 가게입니다. 냉면 가게라고 하기는 어렵고, 국수집이라고 하기에도 미묘한 가게에서 냉면과 온면을 냅니다. 온면은 맑은 굵물과 매운 국물 두 종류이고, 멸치 국물에 라멘과 같은 면, 두 종류의 얇은 고기가 올라갑니다. 민찌밥 같은 메뉴가 있는 것을 포함해, 라멘의 영향이 있다고 해야겠지요.

가볍게 가기 괜찮고 가격이 괜찮아서 적당히 점심을 먹어야 할 때 방문하는 가게인데, 사진은 몇 번 찍어뒀는데 정작 블로그 포스팅으로 다룬 적은 없더라고요. 좌석 수가 많지 않고 혼자 운영하는 가게라 여럿이서 가기는 어렵다는 점이 조금 아쉽지만, 혼자서 가서 먹기에는 딱 좋은 가게입니다.

A spectacular stibnite. With its hundreds of bladelike crystals, this stunning specimen is one of the largest stibnites on public display in the world. Weighing almost half a ton, the stibnite crystals were able to grow to such impressive lengths because they formed in a large underground cavity. You can see it up close in the Museum’s Mignone Halls of Gems and Minerals.
