I can’t believe we’re doing this again. It’s just a bot that generates the text you ask it for. If you put it in charge of critical decisions, it will kill people. Not because it’s secretly evil, but because it’s a word generator. It’s like putting your toaster in charge of air traffic control.

This will be the last post that will be bridged to !

Choosing another protocol, okay sure we can work with that. But hosting and even verifying criminal orgs like is just a spit in the face

Almost everything is PUBLIC on Bsky, It's not a viable decentralized alternative, since hosting it all yourself would bankrupt almost anyone

So if you want to keep following me, please do join the mstdn.social/invite/C3pBKk4Y

Or better, host your own!

It appears Linux root-on-ZFS is a mess. No standard way to do it. Kernel updates require recompiling ZFS. Boot environments are a cornucopia of constantly evolving hacks.

If you're actually using on root, on , what's your preferred hack to make that happen?

I suspect might need to assume root on extFS and data on ZFS, leaving root-on-ZFS for the advanced user or a terminal chapter. :flan_disappointed:

Techbro stance: "Regulating AI is hindering innovation."

The purpose of regulation is to protect humans from harm, support wellbeing and promote societal sustainability.

So the techbro stance is "I can't invent new stuff if I can't fuck with people's lives and health."

Except that's not innovation, that's abuse.

Politicians and media really need to start understanding the difference.

Pixelfed, Loops, and Sup mirror Meta's products. Intentionally.

The difference?

Ethical development, community ownership, and a user experience people actually enjoy.

Mainstream adoption requires meeting people where they are.

Polished flagship experiences can coexist with grassroots instances, both help the ecosystem grow.

That's the tea. Now let's grow! 🚀

Imagine a simple, yet powerful messenger app with deep Pixelfed and Loops integration.

Public Channels, Group Chats, Stories, E2EE, Fediverse Private Messages.

Conversate, Create and View Stories, Chat across 3rd party integrations (xmpp, discord, slack) and more.

Wouldn't that be sick?

If only there was some guy who made 2 platforms to deeply integrate this into, while keeping it open, extendable and compatible with other software.

Like just imagine. 😉

"Our government seems to believe the American people are stupid when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein. Not naïve or confused — stupid, as if we can’t put together basic timelines, read plea agreements, or notice when a serial sex trafficker keeps skating through consequences that would flatten anyone else."

I work in an NHS hospital. Why is our access to the European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights website blocked? Why do we block any website that mentions "Abortion" as standard!

The answer is the American company Trend Micro.

Screenshot of Trend Micro blocking the website https://epfweb.org/ because of "Abortion".
