🔗 Surprising Find Inside Kidney Stones Suggests We Were Wrong About How They Form

A study led by researchers at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) has now found that calcium oxalate kidney stones, the most common type, are enriched with bacteria.

In fact, these stones contain sheets of bacteria as part of their intrinsic internal structure.

"This breakthrough challenges the long-held assumption that these stones develop solely through chemical and physical processes, and instead shows that bacteria can reside inside stones and may actively contribute to their formation..."

“Speak clearly but say nothing.”

Kan
twitter.com/kankanyonce/status」 / X

It doesn't matter whether C is good or not. It matters that if I write code in two languages that aren't C, and I want it to all be part of the same process, I need to care about C. C pervades all. You cannot escape it. C will outlive all of us. The language will die and the ABI will persist. The far future will involve students learning about C just to explain their present day. Our robot overlords will use null terminated strings. C will outlive fungi.
