At our protest last night I did see a reporter taking pictures of us. That's happening more often these days. But it's still just local outlets except in Minnesota, where the cowardly national outlets have been *forced* to provide coverage. You hear about the resistance from that lot when they are unable to cover it up any more.
Obviously, the outcome for the USA will be determined by those of us who hit the streets. Resolutely ignoring us is how to be wrong about everything.

True, and this is why the pundit class keeps getting shocked by stuff normal protesters saw coming a mile away. To know what's going on in the US, you have to be a) brave enough to think straight in a crisis and b) plugged into the real resistance.
That's all it takes, but most of the pundits are flunking on both.

Other servers can and should use Alice's `replies` collection to see which replies she has consented to. They can and should obscure or hide altogether replies that aren't in that collection.
Mastodon doesn't do either of these things, by the way. It doesn't let you reply to Alice's followers, and it doesn't use the `replies` collection for showing and hiding replies. It's too bad; these are really valuable features of ActivityPub.

도서관 관련 아시는 분들께 여쭙습니다.
1) 희망도서신청 거부사유로 ‘정치적’인 경우가 무엇을 말하는지 알고 싶습니다.
2) 현역시장의 도서들이 지방선거를 앞두고 지역도서관에 들어온 경우 이른바 어른의 사정이 있겠지만 문제 없는지요? 시장의 도서기증이어도, 도서관에서 돈주고 샀어도, 누군가의 희망도서신청이었어도 정치적인 것 같습니다만.
지역 도서관에 문제 제기하기 전에 관련 정보들을 알고 싶습니다.

You always see a certain paragraph quoted from Audre Lorde’s “Master’s Tools” essay, but a more salient quote would be the one that better identifies the actual point of the essay.
“Women of today are still being called upon to stretch across the gap of male ignorance and to educated men as to our existence and our needs. This is an old and primary tool of all oppressors to keep the oppressed occupied with the master’s concerns. Now we hear that it is the task of women of Color to educate white women—in the face of tremendous resistance—as to our existence, our differences, our relative roles in our joint survival. This isn’t the first time I’ve moved to a new server, and at first blush it does still feel like a missed opportunity to not be able to move your posts over to the new instance.
I then remember that —beyond potential technical issues— every server is a community with its own policies about content and as such, me showing up with years of content that may not be in line with those policies is a moderation burden that no one is asking for.
Was reminded today that this exists; smart banners to redirect your users to your app from your website. Easy to add, helps with conversion 👍
