『Chaos Galaxy 2』는 우주를 배경으로 한 코에이 삼국지 스타일의 대전략 게임입니다. 성계를 점령하고 유닛을 생산하고 장수를 이동시켜서 전투하며 지도를 내 세력권으로 채워 나가는 게임이지요.

삼국지보다도 수호전을 연상시키는 다양한 장수와 배경, 공들여 채워넣은 캐릭터들과 세력이 그럴듯한 느낌을 줍니다. 우주인 게 그렇게까지 의미가 있나? 싶고 우주 괴물들 같은 거 등장하기 위해서인가? 싶으면서도 생각해보면 '이민족'이 다뤄지는 것과 좀 비슷하긴 하군요. 그냥 이런 게임이라고 받아들이면 느낌이 이상하지 않습니다.

성계 이름이 량저우, 샹저우 등 중국 지명같으면서도 울산이나 청진, 다네가시마나 솔로몬, 티레 같은 지명이 섞여 있는 것도 신경쓰이는 포인트입니다. 뭐 삼국지 모의전 같은 거 플레이할 때에도 은근슬쩍 한반도가 포함된 게임이었던 기억이라 그 때 생각도 나고… 이런 정정당당한 대전략게임을 제가 오래 잡고 있지는 못하는데 저렴하지만 적절히 쌓아올린 만듬새가 흥미가 가는 작품입니다.

Eilean Donan Castle is a historic castle located on a small tidal island in the Scottish Highlands, where three sea lochs meet. It was originally built in the 13th century to defend the area against Viking invasions. The castle was destroyed in 1719 during a Jacobite uprising after being bombarded by British naval ships, and it remained in ruins for nearly 200 years.
