In honor of this important anniversary, I downloaded the original Flash SWF file from Internet Archive, played it using Ruffle in a full-screen window, and replaced the audio with the original MP3 of "Invasion of the Gabber Robots" by The Laziest Men on Mars. So this is probably the highest fidelity encoding possible, without going back to the original forum GIFs.

As Blacksky continues to push forward and Bluesky continues its campaign to remake the platform in a bigot's paradise, I can't help but make a parallel to the white tradition of destroying spaces Black folks create for themselves.
US history is replete with examples of how Black folks have made spaces for ourselves that aren't a threat to anyone being demolished due to the jealousy and malice of whiteness becoming enraged we are existing.
I've always thought what happened to my former instance Play Vicious was an example of this being digitized.
And it feels like Bluesky is determined to continue this tradition even as Blacksky pushes the boundaries of what's possible in the Atmosphere ecosystem.

"We found that most of the ‘benefit’ tends to relate to older, smaller and leaner forms of machine learning, what has been called ‘traditional AI’, while we also know that most of the new harm is likely stemming from consumer generative AI over-deployment."
