What is Hackers' Pub?

체스 장기 쇼기가 모두 차투랑가라는 인도 보드게임에서 전해진 거라고 하더라고요. 중국 장기랑 한국 장기가 비슷하고 일본 쇼기가 완전히 다른데, 특히 승격 제도는 중국이나 한국 장기에는 없고 오히려 체스 프로모션이랑 비슷해요. 이게 일본에서 독자적으로 나온 건지 옛 장기가 일본에 전해질 때는 그런 규칙이 있었던 걸지 항상 궁금했어요.

Nací a finales de mayo, antes del mundial de fútbol de «naranjito 82», y mi primer trabajo fue a los quince años: limpiando vasos en una velá de mi barrio (Pino Montano). Un año más tarde, a los dieciséis, en la Feria de Abril de Sevilla, mientras aprendía a cortar jamón ibérico, ayudaba a los compañeros de la barra del bar y limpiaba las mesas de la caseta. Ese mismo año, exceptuando la semana de la Feria, también estuve como ayudante de unos pintores de edificios, donde adquirí el conocimiento para pintar cualquier tipo de superficie. En eR verano siguiente, a los 17, estaba trabajando en una pizzería como ayudante de pizzaiolo. Además, por seguir con eR apartáo laboral, he estáo realizando diversos trabajos de jardinero, de peón de limpieza (desde cristales a garajes y edificios), de asistente de mantenimiento de edificios, de encargáo de distintos cibercafés, de mozo de almacén, de ceramista + escuRtor + restauráor en la Plaza de España de Sevilla y, también, hornero ceramista en La Cartuja de Sevilla, Pickman SA, y varios trabajos más, pero… estudiando cá vez que podía e intentando aprender otros idiomas, mi aRma, ya q' eR saber nunca ocupa lugar, diçen, pero la peçhá de libros que tengo por eR piso... no te digo ná y, asimismo, te lo digo tó, !

PS: Mi abuelo paterno decía que, pá llevarse bien (una persona con otras), era preferible no hablar de #fútbol , ni #política , ni #religión y, aún aJíN, son de los temas que más menciono. Mi orientación política es el apartidismo, mi aRma mía, q' es muy distinto a ser apolítico. Mi convicción religiosa es el agnosticismo. Y... Soy de #Sevilla & del #SevillaFC

I am just so tired of this "AI" shit. Truly. Not just the extra maintenance burden on my but the constant discussions that lead nowhere. I can keep making the same arguments against using "AI" for anything relevant from here till the cows come home but it's not gonna change people's opinion. Because they are "on AI" or their bosses force it upon them or whatever.

But honestly. It's all been said. Neither does the tech change significantly (regardless of what the boosters tell you) nor do the other facts at hand, the brain and skill atrophy, the exploitation, the ecological impact, etc. etc. etc.

Dunno. It's hard to keep doing this whole "keep making your point and maybe some people will change their mind thing" when the facts are all on the table and people just have made decisions I find morally questionable.

Maybe I am just tired. Will keep doing the same shit tomorrow. Keep running against that concrete wall hoping that it will somehow crumble.

It seems the time has come, huh. Is anyone looking for a senior SRE with deep Linux expertise and experience with infrastructure at massive scales (ex-Meta, ex-Apple)? UK, remote (happy to visit the office anywhere in the UK every month or so). I prefer working on the automation, CI/CD, load testing, or low level debugging. However, I will not work on anything related to generative AI.
